New to here and have bean reading allot of you project build ups and thought I would start my own.

I used to be a Commodore fan having owned a few modified ones in my time. When it came to getting a new car my girl-fend played a big part turning me to the dark side lol.

I have owned this car since the start of the year. Bought it with the rb26dett already in it.

The car came with some goodies all ready installed:

Apexi power fc

Z32 afm's

Gready turbos

Forged bottom end

Tein suspension

R32 GTR seats

Vertex body kit

At the time I brought it it was only making 260rwkw because the guy I had brought it from had it de-tuned from 360rwkw. He said that it had too much power for him.......

I didn't get to drive it home at that time I had lost my licence for 6 months and was going to get my licence back the following month so it was sort of a present to me. My girlfriend got the pleasure of driving it home with me riding shot gun. What a great ride home that was had a smile from ear to ear.

One week before I was meant to get my licence back I got a summons to go back to lose it again for 12 months. This pissed me off at the start but I know I have to pay the consequences for what I did. So now I had a good car but no licence again what to do. First thing I thought about doing was to sell it then the better got to me and I decided to just keep it because I owed no money on it and just modified it some more.

That brings to me where I am now, so I have started stripping down the car to start work on it .1 is because it was rushed to be put together and 2, just cos I can.

Things that I want to accomplish are:

Detailed engine bay which include polishing most engine parts, Flatten firewall, smooth wheel arches ect

Fix dented roof ( Someone decided that it was a good idea to put the bonnet onto it)

Install some type of wide body onto it (not sure which one yet)

New Interia.

Full body respray

That's enough talking for now Ill let the pic tell the rest. Only got pic of how it sits now will post up how I got it later.

Pics to be uploaded tomorrow when the internet connection plays ball.

Comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks Mark

p.s.

I am dyslexic, please excuse any spelling or grammar errors....

Nice work man. This is exactly what I wanted to do 3 years ago but after looking for a decent 32 with a 25 or 26 already fitted I ended up buying a GTR. Still would've loved to do this widebody conversion. Good luck I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.

trustr32 thanks for the kind words. Bean waching your thred too. Looks like you have spent alot of tyme on yours. Was lucky to get it allready converted saves alot of money. Only problem whith the conversion some reason it has a sr20 gearbox. Going to change that out to a r33 rb25 one soon

Yes I have cut all the rust out on both sides. Pasenger side was so much werse than what was showen. Looks like there was some panals replaced once and thay decided to put dubble sided tape between the two panals. That was one of the rasons why I decided to do the wide body and also just becouse I think the kit looks hot.

    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
