hey just wanting to now peoples experiances with brands, an how good they griped up an how long they lasted.

in need of some better tyres as im doing hill climbs an cant for the life of me get the Maxxis to stick so they are making a visit to the paddock now

making 205 with front mount cat back an E85.. n 12 pound boost... just useless tyres... an only gonna be using it for track so dont mind buying good tyres for it

try some federal rsr's before you step up to an r compund on such a mild setup

give either the federal rsr's or kuhmo ku36's a try first. also just looking at your avatar the 33 looks quite low, have you got camber arms etc? having a small tyre contact patch from big negative camber on the rear wont help traction either.

yeh its quite low at the front but the rear is a little higher. so camber isnt that much of a problem an ive got 18x10 on the rear so have wide enough tyres, so theres plenty of tyre that is making contact

I have achilles atr sports, not bad at all for a cheap tyre.

You say you have 18x10 and there is plenty of tyre making contact. What size tyre is on the back, because you can fit multiple sizes on a 10" rim

I would suggest what Cosi has suggested so far.

I have had KU36's on mine for a couple of track days and have been very happy with the Grip to Cost ratio from these tyres. I have so far done my best lap time on these as well. From memory they were only $160~ or there abouts per tyre. Beauty of this is if you don't like it then you can use it for on road as well.

Where did you get it for 160 a tyre?!

Option1 used to sell them cheap. But now they are 390 per tyre (265/35)

Whereas rsr are nice and low at 240 a tyre

Yeah 400 per tyre for ku36s I got quoted at most places for 265s

235/45 I got them from Fulllockmotorsport back last year from memory.

If you still have standard rear arms and just lowered the car then you may well have 1.5-2 degrees of camber (i had 1.7 on my 34 with standard arms at 345mm eyebrow height) what this meant is that my 265 rears only had a 235 contact patch. All well and good to buy good tyres but make sure your alignment is correct as well.

nitto invos or any of the nitto range very well priced and super grippy and a 260 wear rating so a "real street tyre" no r compound
