Hey guys

Does anyone know of or have used any anti-condensation products? Or if they exist?

I'm really sick of getting condensation on my car every morning and driving half blind until my glass warms up/evaporates.

Rainex antifog but in my past its only good on house mirrors lol

Turn on ac and place airflow in recurculated it will dry them fast as hell

Outside rain ex works in mutiple thin layers or glass wax

R34 came with a anti condensation coating factory on side glass ( which is why its a bugger to clean off acid rain lol) i found it on the sales brochure along with two paints same code one hard , one normal ??

If you're lucky enough to have the Super Fine Hard Coat, you should also have a cool SFHC sticker on your rear window.

Not anymore lol the osaka acid rain etched it so bad the dealer used a steel wool pad to try and rid the car of etched glass , which i had to polish out the fine scratches on the rear window :-(

The paint is the super hard as well and after 3 runs of m105 cutiting compound shines like glass again

#1 way to stop fogging up.... keep the inside clean!!! i have no issues with fogging because i clean the inside regularly. It's only if it's really cold and i'm really hot, that it will fog a little. Generally not a common combo...

All the time you're building up oils on the inside glass, windows down driving will speed this up especially...

IMO you don't want to recycle air mode to clear fog. If it starts fogging, and you have recycle air on it's taking the warm air your expelling and circulating that around the car with a cool exterior = fog. I guarantee without A/C, recycle mode will speed up the fogging.

As for A/C, yes it does clear fog very quickly but then it comes back just as quick and generally if you have fog issues the last thing you want is to blast the A/C hahaha.

I go the complete opposite if need be, i crank the heater (which i'd be wanting to do anyway). It doesn't go away as quick but i find it KEEPS it away, plus you're not needing to run the A/C and all the drawbacks that come with that. I find the heating method finds the balance of temperature better to stop the fogging coming back...

But i always have it on fresh air mode, not recycle.

If you haven't cleaned your interior glass for a while it will be FILTHY, if it is even SLIGHTLY smeary, your fog problems are hugely amplified.

Some people will see this as a bit OTT, but this is what i do and fogging for me is VERY rarely an issue...

Get a MF, warm water and dampen the MF. Clean the glass down whilst constantly rinsing the MF. You'll see the water getting dirty.

Do that a couple times until the water is clean.

Get another clean MF and wipe the glass dry.

Now, the last step is to really cut through whatever grime is left (warm water won't do it alone). Get a good glass cleaner like Stoners Invisible Glass and get a Glass MF. Glass specific MF's are very different to paintwork MF"s, but work great (and you'll definitely see them get dirty too). Go over glass with Stoners and glass MF.

Finally, wipe down with another clean MF and from here you will not need any sort of 'product' on the interior glass.

FI's Glass MF system

Final Inspection's glass cleaner isn't out yet, but Waxit sells Stoners

Lastly, DO NOT use your chamois or waffle weave drying towel to clean your interior glass AFTER you've washed the car. That's a sure fire way to make them super grimey. You have to have the cleanest possible MF to use on interior glass, anything else and you're just making the problem worse.

Without ac vent mode and crack the window tops a bit

With a/c you want recycle mode because it runs the air inside the car thru to dry the air , i grew up in wet snow conditions and over 35 years thats how you cleared windows the fastest , if you open the outside air it brings in damp air and takes longer to clear since the humidity is still high , go buy a 2 dollar humidity gauge and watch it both ways

Yes clean windows free of the dash cleaner haze and smokers yuk or even dust , will make the windows clear faster , do not put air on the floor when your trying to clear them wait till your good and dry or it will fog up big time with wet floormats

tint seems to clear faster then glass as well but i would say its the temp difference it acts as insulation a tad

Anyone wanting to clean glass, use Newspaper instead on other things,

No streaks ever and 100% cheaper :)

Dont do it !!! In the navy bootcamp we used newspaper and vineger the glass was scratched bad from it !!! It does work but not safe over time

The glass looked like a bad detail job buffer fine scratches

go buy a roll of home brand paper towel from Coles or woollies. don't be a tight ass on the paper towel when cleaning, i use about 10 sheets per window or per half the front window.

newspaper has never worked for me and is best to clean the BBQ with :)

Vinegar(white) works great on glass ( not tint) it takes off water spots and not harmful to most things , pop into spray bottle and mist it on the smell actually can kill other odors , you can use it on a zillion things if you find the guidebook for it online

Home brand towels are even worse , like friggan sandpaper

Use a proper soft microfiber towel ( only use it on glass and do not wash in fabric softener ) if you do it streaks like hell on paint or glass

It works a treat on grils , sprinkle on baking soda after misting on and watch the foaming drop off the grease , actually in the navy lime cordial is used on grease go figure ?

I'm not even in the car when theres condensation!

By the way guys this is the outside. I think many of you guys are thinking it's fogging up on the inside. Condensation is different from fog. For the inside, there's Rain X Anti-Fog :)

    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
    • Well the articals keep saying a Q50s (Skyline in Japan) with a new Manual gearbox. I like the talk about the new looks with the round tail lights. I hope they bring back the retro look like they did with the Z
