Can this system be run while not using their ecu eg i have a d-jetro?

Yes, microtech says that the X6 is compatible with aftermarket ECU's.

I will have to check to see if it has any wiring and plug. Straightforward to install.

I don't have the original wiring and I am not sure if there is a plug there but will check with the sparky who fitted it to confirm as the car is in the workshop.

Wiring shouldn't be an issue either way as I was using the Microtech loom. Not hard to do either way.

Just to clarify: coils come with looped (in series) positive wiring from coil to coil. I was using the trigger (-ve) wires off the Microtech loom. No other wiring comes with these.
