Hi everyone :)

Many moons ago; certain websites used to offer a free browsing service of the USS japan auctions.. and other auction sites. this is a 2012 current modern database of how to browse cars eligible for import.

www.directimported.com used to offer a link which enabled free browsing of the auctions, but whichever provider they were feeding it through ceased the service at some stage in 2011 I believe..

which was unfortunate.

Then I was using www.japaneseusedcars.com to browse free auctions... however about a fortnight ago they also have stopped their viewing service

So far the only ones left i know of that offer a free auction viewing service are:

www.J-Spec.com.au

and

www.importmonster.com.au

is there any other ways to view the USS auctions at all? lets build up a knowledge base :)

xoxo

Gossip Row.

i will continue to supply Auction access with results to any Paid brokers service free of charge if the customer requests.

It is unfortunate that many avail places are stopping service but in most cases it is a paid service each company has to pay subscription services to. if you are serious to buying cars most people who want your business will supply the information readily.

Yes, I definitely see what you're saying, Phil.. however (this is just my personal experience) we as customers receive emails providing:

a list of today's V36 Skylines, because that what the customer has told their broker that's what they want (for example)

however a customer like myself likes to BROWSE and i mean dig in the deep dank dirty crates...

for example today on J-spec i've seen a GX71 Mark2 with custom 2 tone paint in shakotan / vip style, an X60 Cresta as Garuchan, an S120 Toyota crown lowered with low km grade 4 which looks to be built by charge speed.. (i think)

Cars like this - I wouldnt expect my broker to find and frankly with something so personal as buying an "old heap of shit" I like to just "shop" for them...

I wouldn't expect my import broker to find me say: a 430 Cedric Gloria hotrod with glitter paint.. etc etc..

this is why i like to browse myself...

do any brokers offer a service where we as a customer shell out a fee to just browse auctions? cos I'd be *really* down for that..

and many of my friends would as well..

i love browsing and would consider importing a car like:

I would be looking for a car like this to add to my collection potentially, but as I said, I couldn't expect my broker to scour the USS auctions all day finding my a shakotan kyusha. or garuchan or kaido racer etc..

do you offer that browsing function as a service?

(FYI the attached image is a S120 Crown, with aero kit, with BBS RS, with aero sunroof spoiler, with rain diffusers, these parts are REALLY rare finds.)

(its also grade 4 and 6x,xxx km - a guy like me would GLADLY import that!!)

also - the above examples are all cars i've found whilst trying to find my dad a good 30 soarer to replace his one that sadly got stolen and smashed... again.. I'm chasing a very very very particular *kind* of soarer with particular trim level etc etc - i wouldn't expect my broker to spend all day scouring to see in the off chance that my dad's dream car will pop up for sale... where as I make a hobby out of it.

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
