It was a sensational night wasnt it??!?!?  ;)  

Well worth the $90 without a doubt. I dont care if some places are cheaper, the facilities and track at this place is wicked fun. The track is much more technical the Sunshine

LOL, i loved the dorifto, first time i've got sideways in anything for months!

I remember passing comment Nath said to me when we got out after qualifying.

So true  lol!  It's sensational fun, and an SAU day will have to be organised for SURE!

I told ya that weight made a difference. I just kept sliding all over the place till the tyres got warm  lol!

I vote for Sunshine and try to do it short notice, say 4-5 days in advance to determine weather conditions. I have raced there in the wet though and it was awesome. Also taken the race kart out in the wet and discovered spin that politicians would lust after.

hey guys, im sure youse had fun. and isnt karting so fun ?

i have a kartmyself and i might organise one meet for Sumerten since i know the boss real well.

maybe we can have a bbq and beers after we have some karting fun :(

There is a group of us that go to Somerton most Saturday nights with our own Karts.If you guys are gonna go, rock up on a Saturday night.

Great Idea, but I think the first rule should be who's allowed to race & who's not.

I say, the following people should be on the Banned from racing list.

a) Kev - Anyone that's seen him handle a car will understand, how he'll make a mockery out of ALL of us.

B) Ben - Coz, he just wins everything anyway, and he has laaaaaunch control :(

But Meshmesh my kart is not all that fast, anyone who knows about Karts will tell you that a Formula A Rotax Rotary Valve is slow compared to a hire Kart. :bs!:

Hire Kart 5 - 8 HP (Now that's some serious power !!)

Rotax Rotary Valve 32 HP, it only revs to 20,000 rpm (Gutless !!)

Kev, I rekon even if we gave you the Hire Kart, and we had the Rotax, you'd still ripp something out of your hat, and blow us away. So give up... You're officially banned from racing :( OK! Unless offcourse Parliment change the legislation.

Kev mate - if you let me have a go in your kart Im there for sure. 20,000rpm sounds hella fun

It's also friggin expensive when the carby mixtures aren't set right !!

It's a little bit prone to seizing :P

Well I'd already banned Gerald - and I havent even seen him in a kart!

Well I'm carrying extra weight now so I should be allowed to race :)

      The oil pressure sensor for logging, does it happen to be the one that was slowly breaking out of the oil block? If it is,I would be ignoring your logs. You had a leak at the sensor which would mean it can't read accurately. It's a small hole at the sensor, and you had a small hole just before it, meaning you could have lost significant pressure reading.   As for brakes, if it's just fluid getting old, you won't necessarily end up with air sitting in the line. Bleed a shit tonne of fluid through so you effectively replace it and go again. Oh and, pay close attention to the pressure gauge while on track!

      I don't know it is due to that. It could just be due to load on track being more than a dyno. But it would be nice to rule it out. We're talking a fraction of a second of pulling ~1 degree of timing. So it's not a lot, but I'd rather it be 0... Thicker oil isn't really a "bandaid" if it's oil that is going to run at 125C, is it? It will be thicker at 100 and thus at 125, where the 40 weight may not be as thick as one may like for that use. I already have a big pump that has been ported. They (They in this instance being the guy that built my heads) port them so they flow more at lower RPM but have a bypass spring that I believe is ~70psi. I have seen 70psi of oil pressure up top in the past, before I knew I had this leak. I have a 25 row oil cooler that takes up all the space in the driver side guard. It is interesting that GM themselves recommend 0-30 oil for their Vette applications. Unless you take it to the track where the official word is to put 20-50w oil in there, then take that back out after your track day is done and return to 0-30.

      I take it that the knock retard is from bearings tapping a little tune? Thicker oil is a fragile bandaid. You need a much bigger oil cooler and probably the bigger pump being discussed.
