hi guys,

this is impressive - an r35gtr with an exhaust & retune is quicker than a current spec Gsxr1000.

I used to race bikes & I can see that the rider knows how to ride so he is really pushing his bike:

I find this incredible as the bike has 1:1 power to weight ratio - all the more kudo's to the mighty r35gtr!!!

Enjoy :)

should be able to take down a litre bike from rest with a full bolt on r35 and good lc traction

but roll on comparisons don't really make sense in aus due to our speed limits and what you stand to lose if/when get caught, nor can we type our own disclaimer filmed in mexico

It must be mentioned that the guy on the bike has got no stick and to make a GTR go fast from 60ks takes no skill whatsoever.

Put me up against a GTR on my R1 and it'll be close to 120 then I'll stomp it to 250ish then The GTR will start to catch me once we pass ~260-270kph and I'll hit a wall at ~290 where as the GTR will be leaving me at ~30kph and I won't see it again till it gets bored and slows down.

I doubt that race hit 250 so the gixxer should have been comfortably in front but I have a feeling the dude in shorts and a tshirt hasn't got much of a clue.

What yr model is your r1?

Yrs ago I had a 99r1 with work done it, making 145rwhp...I ran that against my r32gtr which had 365awkw and I couldn't get away from it on the bike and we were rolling from about 80km to way over 200kmh.

On that old dinosaur I got it up to 309kmh but that was it...I wouldn't accelerate past that point.

It is dark but u when u get a clear view of the bikes headlight, u know the race is over :)

Riding a bike on roll on is like a car, no real art other than change just under the limiter.

It is going to be subjective at the end of the day Which is quicker but for those who ride bikes and understand howbfast they are, it is phenominal to see a near stock gtr play in the same field.

it's dark, you can barely see anything and all you can hear is the gtr. I do not know how you can tell if the rider knows how to ride the bike.

I've been riding for 16 years and am yet to meet a single person who rides in shorts and a tshirt who knows how to bang.

Precisely. 365awkw is somewhere in the vicinity of 600hp. That's 70 more than an R35 and in a car which is some 300+kg lighter than an R35.

A newish Gixxer 1000 should school a GTR from 60-250ish. From there the R35 stomps the gixxer.

Well, actually it's not going to be subjective.

2011 GTR - 0-200 in ~11.1 seconds - http://www.germancarforum.com/community/threads/first-performance-test-2011-nissan-gt-r.36376/

2006 Gixxer 1000 - ~5.5 seconds - http://www.firstpost.com/topic/organization/suzuki-motor-gsxr-1000-k6-0-250-kmh-acceleration-test-gopro-hd-video-4VrYvYUoC08-85101-9.html

That's objective.

And it's possible to miss a gear on the bike, not so in a GTR, meaning you need some semblance of skill to do it.

Also -

- the GTR got the jump and still got spanked in the first race. Edited by Cowboy1600

I cant see the link to that gixxer? The best 0-200 I could find on the gsxr was 7.5sec.

Either that gtr had more work done to it or maybe the bike was a 750 or 600?

My last bike was in fact a k6 with arata titanium full system and power commander - farken monster made 173.5rwhp! I could pick up the front eheel in 4th gear at 240kph...man i miss my bikes.

after you threw in the leathers, she didn't have much choice but to colour co'ordinate

u got me there, very cheeky lol

P.S. I never had the chance to thank you for donating the leathers to me

    • I transferred from full time service to Army Reserve, so I still have access, work has been super keen to get me in to work in the OPS realm, so just turning up to use the gym......and ovens, isn't causing any issues, apart from me needing to keep on telling them that I won't be doing any reserve days until I get my joint in Goulburn sorted  Basically I can now work whenever I want, for how long I want now, and it's all tax free Next time we have some fires or floods you might see me covered in mud, or cutting sick in some plant equipment cleaning up, the Reserves love getting in the news, LOL
    • Final finish outcome of 80°c was typical to the pics, I've turned the oven down to 50°c and will pick them up after the gym tomorrow  The before and after difference was amazing, the wrinkle paint has covered all of the casting marks completely It did take a couple of hours to key it all and get in all of the crevices, but, for me it was time well spent for the final outcome, but I have all the time in the world to do it at the moment  Ended up with 4 coats, each sprayed at different angles to get optimal coverage and thickness As for the fixtures and intake box thingo that hasn't made it, the supplier is apparently posting the fixtures, and, are now sending a different CAI that is in stock The replacement CAI is actually better than what I originally ordered, but will require a pod filter that locates under the front bar, still serviceable, but it basically removes the whole OEM filter box and ducts into the front bar, so filter cleaning will require ramps and the removal of some front bar undertray, not a war stopper, just some ramps and an additional 10 minutes work every few months From looking at it it is made from alloy pipe from the throttle body, through the CAI hole in the rad support, then right turning under the bar, luckily the wrinkle paint was on special and I got 2 cans for $30ish, so the alloy will get the same wrinkle treatment as the intake manifold, hopefully it turns up soon, either way, the car will be getting booked in soon, if the parts aren't here, I'll just get MX5 Mania to " make it work"
    • I'm so glad base security is so high. I see they stopped some random codger from being able to just wander in off the street... 😛   PS, intake looks good!
    • So far so good, another hour and their done
    • Exactly how each part works and how they all work together to make the engine function. That's all I'd need to do a basic build. Maybe how forced induction works. I probably need to learn some of the maths behind it all as well.
