lol Brundle said if Schumacher had the same points system during his career as Alonso had during his, he'd have scored over 3600 points. That's handing out points like candy! And that's why making a special helmet to celebrate this massive achievement is a complete wank.

But it isnt just points, is it. It is wins, quali records, fastest laps. In 1965 there were all of ten gp's in a year. Some Scottish bloke called Clark something won the championship and he didnt even bother to enter all the races.

massa goes to williams = career over

like barrichello retiring from williams in 2011 lol

not sure if i missed it or not, but did finger boy not give the finger at all after the indian GP? could not find any pics either.

Like his career wasnt over years ago anyway?

Finger boy gave finger whilst doing donut. See top of previous page.

exactly - celebrating his record breaking points haul in front of the world is ludicrous. But he obviously thinks its an important and meaningful achievement. Far more arrogant than anything Vettel's ever done. Imagine the vitriol if Vettel dares to celebrate his actual achievement on his helmet...

Not arrogant so much as lame. Anyway Tool is too busy redesigning his helmet every 5 minutes to worry about counting points.

doesnt he?

no he doesn't. he does helmet designs with things like all the red bull staff (below), or all the mechanics, or paying tribute to some of the greats of the past.

Alonso went out of his way to change his helmet design to make sure the world paid attention to the fact that he passed Schumacher's points total, even though its a meaningless claim with the amount of points they give away these days, as eplained before - on corrected figures he's not even halfway to what Schumacher's total would be.

I agree it's lame, but it's also a bit "look at me, I am the greatest"

too busy counting World Drivers Championships instead

I didn't even know Vettel had won it until I read it in here yesterday.

That's probably a low point for me and I've been watching it for a very long time considering how old I am.

He isnt going to replace Whitmarsh which is the role he wants. At McLaren he wotn have the autonomy he wants and he didnt like how Honda went about their F1 program so no loyalty there. I think if anything Williams makes alot of sense as Frank and co woudl welcome him with open arms and frees up Pat Symiodns to be the tech director

Plus it will give them a much needed boost to their tech department. Time to buy Williams shares?

The more I think about it the more it makes sense to me....but who knows. What else is Brawn going to do? Williams would be a great home for him and with Maldanado gone gives them a few options with regards to getting a bankable driver in there. Not enthused about it being Massa, I think I would rather Di Resta or someone. A return of Hulk would be great but Hulk I think is past having to gamble with a team taking a step up in performance.

The problem is they need coin as they dont have any other sponsorship worth much. I had hoped they could follow on from last years results but clearly this years car is a dog. Its the old story - poor car leads to no sponsorship or winnings, leads to no money spent leads to poor car etc etc etc. They have been talking it up year on year ever since BMW did the dirty on them. Got it right once, last year, but other than that it has just been slowly getting worse.

You go to a GP now and you only really see a few teams being supported. Redbull & Team Cheater Adu Dhabi are there in spades. Followed by McLaren (Mostly Brits) and MB. Lotus tend to have quite abit of support but I guess that is mostly because of Kimi rather than the confected heritage. Of the rest you can barely find merch. There is a tiny bit of Caterham and Force it India about but at the races you cant even buy a team Willy tshirt if you wanted one. No one even knows who Marussia are.

It is one of the bullshit things about F1 is that some teams get more in winnings for the same results as others. Mostly RB & SF given the current agreements.

Its true. Of the GPs I have been to the only people with Williams merch are the stores otuside sellign old BMW-Williams gear etc. No current gear. But whilst I like the team it doesnt help they have a tool and a softly spoken rookie for drivers.

Re funnding. PDVSA are going to have to hand over funding due to their exit prior to the end of their contract ... so thats some cash and reports have Massa and Bernie sweetening the deal to keep Brazilian money and interest in F1. So their budget wont be too shabby, but wont be great. They relaly need some Chinese oil money

    • You Gregged a whole racetrack!?
    • Look for broken wire or bad connector at the motor. Might not be it, but is worth starting there, as it is easy.
    • Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my R32 GT-R. Sometimes, when the car goes over a bump or experiences some vibration, the 4WD warning light comes on the dashboard. When I check the code from the control unit in the trunk, it shows Code 19 – ETS Motor. However, everything seems to be working fine — if I turn off the engine and restart the car, the light goes away and everything functions normally. Has anyone experienced this before? Where should I start troubleshooting this issue? Thanks in advance!
    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
