GTR-N1
this will definitely be useful, as i may be inspecting a 34 next week! The NRMA PDS has so many omissions in it > bit of a nightmare > had to rely on a 10 min phone conversation with staff. Just Car PDS will be perused next - again, sorry for the delay to this thread as well as PMs. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/415239-p-d-s-policy/page/2/#findComment-6667539 Share on other sites
darksky34
Well, just called up 2 brokers in Sydney. Asked about "nissan skyline". 1. Sorry we don't do those vehicles, we are a relatively small broker and only do mums and dads types of cars. =( 2. advice given: It would be much cheaper to go direct to the insurance company than to go through a broker for this type of vehicle. also just tried to get an online GIO quote, BROKE THE WEBSITE Learning as we go! GTR-N1
At last... Just Car PDS details have now been posted throughout "Topic Headings" in Posts #2 to 11. Another insurance company that covers 'grey imports' may be added to the above mix next week. D_I_F
GLASS BREAKAGE & LOCK DAMAGE Shannons:- Once during a period of insurance, every glass panel is covered (fixed or moveable) without any need to pay "excess". Moulding is not covered if due to aging. Chips and cracks that do not extend through the entire thickness, or affect integrity, are not covered. Locks, keys and barrels are not mentioned and are therefore unlikely to be covered. See Terry here's where some of the information you are providing is incorrect. * Shannon's will not cover sunroofs. * Theft of keys and recoding is covered but of course limitations do apply. I don't want to hack on this thread but I don't believe it's a good idea to be trying to provide this type of information if you don't work in this industry, especially if its incorrect. GTR-N1
Read the PS on Post #1 again! It says that the Shannons 2006 PDS will be updated!!! They talked to me today, and they will send out the latest PDS on Monday!!! According to the 2006 PDS, what I've posted is correct. You've never asked me about any experience that I've had in dealing with car insurance. In fact, you've never even PM'd me either! I've written psycho-legal reports for victims of MVAs and sat in case conferences with both traffic lawyers and survivors. Terms of reference (including car insurance and CTP) were then furnished to me, to subsequently write reports. evil_weevil
There is a difference in working in the industry to dealing with them So I've gone to 5 chemists i should list about medication advice? No. Anyway, how you interpret a pds to how someone else does to how the company does are 3 different things and is best to leave it to the individual to ring the said company. In terms of wrong info you haven't asked me for correct info on Dawes and you have left if there, as you know I'm the manager there. I don't like to advertise that cause I get people pming me for quotes, cheap prices and advice etc. Anyhoo, last I'll post in here and my last words of advice. - ring each insurer for quotes. Shop around - read their pds for exclusions, limitations. Conditions, features -compare apples with apples - don't be price driven Contact insurance council of Australia for other insurers. If you deal with an insurer, make sure they are part of the code of practice. More rules insurer deals with. If you har a complaint, write to them first. Then if not satisfied go to higher management/IDR process. If Not rectified ten financial ombudsman What I'd do for this thread is link all pds and point out what pages all details are on so there is no chance of slight interpretation, make everyone read it themselves! Cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/415239-p-d-s-policy/page/2/#findComment-6669522 Share on other sites
GTR-N1
Read?... Read?... Read? Read is different from understand is it not? Isn't the intention of an insurance company to furnish a PDS to be understood as well as read? Surely, an insurance company would never ever draw up and distribute a PDS that couldn't be understood! Never! So if one is to understand a PDS, how can he/she not compare one to another before making a decision? I've spent hours joining the 'dots' and the PMs I've been getting tell me it's been well worth it. VOILA!
