Nice wheels Chris, good choice.

Finished the majority of sanding.

As far as i can tell its ready for final coats (primer/sealer, colour, clears)

So no more block sanding. Only careful rubbing off the rough surface after each coat.

I will have to experiment on the spare bootlid and see if i can do the pearl the way i want.

Bootlid sanded ready for primer and experiments.

Washed everything, including all the sludge off the floor, need a clean environment for final coats.

Inspecting the car while its wet and found a dent i didnt fill properly. Hope its the only one, didnt see anything else that was too bad.

A quick fill and sand thisarvo and itll be fine.

Its not perfect, but it should be good enough. Getting it perfect would take an extra 80+ hours. But if i want to make it perfect in the future, i know the paint is ALL acrylic and i can just start blocking it back and go from there. I wont have to strip all the paint off and begin again.

I think id get a good straight shell for starters if i wanted perfection.

Gotta go to the paintshop, should have gone yesterday. Oops. :/

Replaced my intake gasket from plazmaman gasket to the stock rubber one as i think its leaking and now i gave up on it.

If any of you guys are running plazmaman intake on your R33 and could help me out.

Installed a plazmaman intake onto my R33 (Rb25det) and i think its leaking. It makes a noise while idling and when i put my hand on the intake the noise goes away. I had a plazmaman gasket in there and i changed the gasket back to the stock rubber one and now i have no idea why its doing this, or is it normal as i also have a 66mm throttle body.
Any help will be good

Flushed the radiator, gave her a quick wash, replaced the top screws on the radiator, cranked and not firing properly, checked the coil packs, used a lot of start ya bastard, put fresh fuel in, replaced the battery, then she was purrrrrrring. They really need their 12v to start properly.

Tomorrow, I'll put the new coolant in, give her a proper wash, then TRY to find a buyer.

Masked it up it up and went to the paint shop for final bits and pieces.

The guy said at these temps i might have to wait a few weeks before buffing. The longer i wait the better.

Oh well, ill just have to do some other things to it while i wait. Swaybars need re-bushing, diff seal needs replacing, brakes need a flush, pads and air deflectors, interior needs a clean up and making/repairing bits.

Hope i can get the clear on in the next 6-7 days and make it to Shannons open day.

Nice present rocked up at my door this morning from Hypergear!! :woot:

Got straight into installing it. Finished at about 5 this arvo haha.. Haven't managed to test it yet coz I lost just about all my coolant in the process.. So i'm faily keen for tomorrow..!

Yeah, I bought a blown turbo from a dude in Melbourne and he just dropped it off to Stao for me.

Yep still running the rb20 actuator. Means I don't have to bleed off quite as much with the ebc. Need to organise to get a tune now :D

Will be interesting to see what happens with Stock ECU and 10psi... Will it R&R???

Guessing you don't have the PFC in yet.

You gonna tune locally? Trojan etc?

Yeah will see I suppose. I've read anything over 10 with a hi flow will r&r but I'll find out and I can get back to you. Worst case I don't boost hard till a tune... :/

Yeah I don't know what im doing with the pfc so I'll leave that up to the tuner haha.

Planning on heading up to DVS Jez. have been in discussion with him for a little while now and he's been great.

YES!

Funnily enough, I have cut some (much nicer) woodgrain finish board at work to use as inside trim in the back of the wagon.

Will post pics when finished. :D

Yeah, try the 10psi and if it freaks out, slap the 5psi back on or even that with the old stock solenoid dealy earthed to 7psi...

could be interesting indeed.

I've always wondered whether the Altitude difference between coast and here would make a noticeable difference in tune also.

If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
