hey guys just wondering whether there's something amiss with the bodykit of this car

http://uniquemotors.shopforcars.com.au/Detail.aspx?StockID=17319&Car=NISSAN%20SKYLINE%20R34%20GT-T%201998%20COUPE%20$22,999.00

notice that the rear bar is nismo kit but on the front bar pictures (there's 2) which show one side each, there is a difference in the sides. that being: on a nismo front bar there are 3 little vents on each side of the front bar, but on this car, the vents only appear on one side. also, the side skirts don't seem to be nismo.....is this correct?

if so, any likely explanations?

The front is normal one for the year GTT,the three vents are for the side mount intercooler

What side skirts it doesn't have any , exactly how mine came

has the awful wing and ugly ass rear bar

Looks unmolested for the most part besides that

has the awful wing and ugly ass rear bar

those are factory items as part of the nismo aero kit.

as seen on here (apart from the gtr spoiler)

interestingly, the car OP mentioned is missing thte side skirts as well as the front bumper of the kit (as seen below).

so yes a bit fishy, did it originally have nismo aero with front bar and skirts removed? or was the rear bar and spoiler added?

thats a standard series 1 bar. the one your loking at is the series 2 bar. i used to have the nismo/altia bar which was boss but i got the stock GTT with the nismo lip and its jizz.

The series 2 front bar looks nothing like that , I have one and it looks like a damn ford

No side skirts was standard

Don't care it says nismo that wing and rear end is horrid looking , the bulge that says skyline ruins it

the car he's looking at is a factory series 1front bar with the nismo rear bar and trolley wing. this is a series 2 bar no?

my bad. thats what i meant, somehow got it switched around.

but adding those skirts on would be a bitch since you'd have to drill holes unless you want to just stick it on top of your paint. my factory fitted skirts had holes drilled in for clips on the side.

    • There are black hose clamps as well if you care. Plazmaman for example sells some: https://plazmaman.com/product/black-hose-clamps-premium-quality-stainless-breeze/
    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
