GTR_NUTZ
Did you let it drip dry for a while before starting? Maybe water in the air filter? Or alternator? mad082
pull out the coilpack valley cover and if you have access to a compressor with an air gun, blow the water out. or just use tissues to dry it out, then leave the cover off for a few days to allow the moisture to escape. you may also need to let the engine run for a bit (or take it for a drive) once you have dried as much of the water out as you can to evapourate the rest. mystery_kid
This should hopefully be a lesson to everyone not to bother with degreasing engine baysand wanky shit like I'd rather have a dirty engine bay than wet all of the electrics and potentially do actual damage Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/416452-de-greased-my-engine-bay-now-car-wont-run-right/#findComment-6685529 Share on other sites

Nothing worse than looking under the bonnet of a car and seeing everything covered in 15-20 years worth of dirt and smog. You just have to be careful when you clean your engine bay, don't just go at it with a garden hose and some degreaser like it's a 5 minute job. I spent 16 hours over a few weeks cleaning mine with a toothbrush and a tin of petrol. Of course I took it to a whole other level, but it's rewarding. An hour on top of the motor with a rag and some degreaser is all it would take to get your bay looking respectable. Greekos
always clean my engine bays nothing worst than working on a motor covered in crap, it's simple don't blast electrics with the hose Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/416452-de-greased-my-engine-bay-now-car-wont-run-right/#findComment-6685623 Share on other sites

Done sensibly there is nothing wrong with cleaning the engine bay. If anything, it can save you from any damage. On a dirty engine it is hard to tell if you have an oil leak. GTR-N1
Yes. The corollary is that with a clean bay, you can detect... * oil leak * coolant leak * air leak and get to it more quickly!
