  1. Hi guys, I have just changed my CAS and I need someone to help me out who has experience setting the base timing. I lined the CAS up ok in the centre, the car starts and drives fine, I just want to make sure the timing is where it should be. So if anyone in western Sydney can help me out who has a timing light I would really appreciate it. Tyler, 0410414512.
  2. Clean the coil valley out, clean the coil packs and replace the spark plugs. There's a youtube post for fix misfire on r33 gtr where you basically add some dielectric grease (headlight bulb grease supercrap has it for a dollar a pack) to the bottom of the coil pack where the spark plug pushes up into the boot. Worked great for me on several cars.
  3. I had an r32 gtst back in 2004 which would do that, the car would lurch back and forth violently under acceleration. Turned out to be a really dirty fuel filter, wasn't allowing sufficient fuel to the rail so the car was suffering fuel starvation. Upon reflection I'm surprised I didn't destroy the engine, must have been running ultra lean during those periods.
  4. Does the throttle show movement in the data scan app? Maybe the throttle plate is jammed open a bit? This is taking ages for you to diagnose, get the car to a workshop who knows skylines, pay the cash and let us all know what the issue was.
  5. Blown/overcharged diodes probably.
  6. Maybe it wasn't knocking on the dyno. If the maps were safe with no knock when he was tuning then it not really fair to blame the tuner. Sorry to hear the bad news, let us know how it goes.
  7. Get to know the car before you start increasing the power, if you earn a grand a week put a little bit aside for the car so you can save up for the parts you need, don't sink your whole pay into it each week. A stock r32 gtst is a rare thing these days btw, congratulations on the purchase. Some cheap upgrades are brake pads and better quality tires. When the r32 is running properly with no issues they are actually a very fast car, so try to get all the little things sorted for the time being. Welcome to the forum and drive safe!
  8. Yeah maybe you should stop driving it so much while there is a definite issue with the car, you could have even destroyed the turbos running that much boost. Park the car up and remove the intercooler piping to the turbos and have a look there like the guys have said. There shouldn't be very much oil but if there is pooling there that is your issue. Pull the dumps off at the rear of the turbos and have a look in there as well, you might be missing the exhaust wheel on one turbo. If you haven't got the mech know how to get that done just tow it to your mechanic and leave it there until it is diagnosed. It's not worth destroying your engine by running it and trying to boost while you have some major oil issue.
  9. Yeah that sounds like a good idea, I will have a compression test done while I am getting the service. The car is completely stock, upgrading items on failure or items that are on the way out seems to be the way to go, the car wont be driven very much, only a couple of times a week.
  10. Hi 75coupe, you didn't need to type full in quotation marks, it makes it looks like you are implying I shouldn't have a full service. Some things are not obvious, like rusted out pulleys that I only thought of once searching. There may some good ideas coming from members that I could have a look at whilst I am getting the car ready.
  11. Hi guys, after selling my r33 gtst about 6 months ago, I realised that after driving a truck all week that I need to not drive a truck on the weekends. Anywho, I have just found a beautiful 1996 GTR in Japan that I am having shipped over. I thought there was a thread on 'what maintenance to do when your car arrives from Japan' but I cant seem to find it. If anyone knows the thread I would appreciate it if I could be pointed in the right direction If there isn't one, I was thinking that I should get the vehicle checked out once it arrives, just to note any issues the car may have that I do not yet know about, to change the oil, oil filter, air filter and fuel filter. Have the timing belt looked at to see if it has been changed and the condition, and as soon as is practicable to get the rest of the cars fluids changed. Anything else I should think about in the meantime? I was thinking I can get all the necessary parts while waiting for the car to arrive. Thanks guys.
  12. I have taken the sub and amp out. Firm $5500!!!!!11111 Only things need to fix are front windscreen, dash facade, drivers window switch, maybe replace steering wheel. Drives well, engine is strong. Still 3 months rego. This has a high flowed turbo, sounds really nice, pulls hard, just needs a nistune! 0434284396
  13. $6400 Guys, I have put a deposit down on a truck, this has to go! 0434284396
  14. I think it says on the back *caution inhaling contents may cause cancer* so just be careful to have the wind blowing away from you when using the product.
  15. Hi guys, I need a van so this has got to go. Needs a few interior pieces (drivers window switch panel thing has been re painted at some point) and is a little bit rough here and there, but its to be expected for a car of this age, still, its in pretty good condition, engine runs perfectly and no ticking or anything on start up, manual, has VCT, full 3 inch x force turbo back, hybrid front mount, ballbearing highflow turbo, splitfire coil packs and thats about it. Sparco 17x9 and 17x8 rear and front rims, and sparco pedals. 177000 km. runs 7 psi only, was going to get a nistune but cant really afford it. Just got 2 new rear tyres and doesnt need anything else really. The diff has a tiny bit of noise but I havent bothered changing it, changed the oil when I got the car and there was no crap in there, just showing its age probably. Windscreen has a small crack up top but it hasnt moved. Air con works perfectly as well. 6 months rego. Oh, also got a ma audio eho154 5000wrms sub, visonik v4000xd amp, 0gauge wire, an earthquake 4 channel amp and orion splits. Boot needs new interior too, little bit rough. I also have the coil pack valley cover, was taken off when the splitfires were put in, havent bothered putting it back on. There is also a small amount of corrosion in the engine bay on top of the guards where the joins are, only minor and in no other areas on the car. Call or message me on 0434284396 Tyler. Car is in Bonnyrigg Heights Sydney.
  16. Does it smell like petrol? Does it blow black smoke when boosting? Could possibly be 02 sensor or leaky injectors.
  17. R33 RB25 Turbo no shaft play, comes with dump and actuator (needs circlip) good condition. 150 R32 RB20 Aircon compressor, purchased before car written off. 50 R32 RB20 Aftermarket AFM, hardly used. 50 Pick Up Bonnyrigg Heights Sydney 0434284396
  18. I had the same issue, I just cut the snorkel to clear, wrapped chicken wire around to form a skeleton and taped it all up, took about 5 mins, I check the condition periodically, all holding together well.
  19. why dont you see how fast you can do the lap with the gear you got, that way you can keep an eye on temps and stuff with the power level you got now? I dont see any temp control measures in place, would be a good idea to see how hot she runs after a few laps at 330. Nice car too mate, good luck!
  20. Hi guys, have a look at this turbo and let me know what you think it is. The exhaust wheel has TA843 written on it. Bearings are v smooth and there is no shaft play at all. I have a feeling this is just a standard rb25s1 turbo.
  21. Full boost by 4500 should be fine, but running so rich on boost is dropping a fair bit of power for you, and like gtsboy said, if you run out of injector at high rpm you could cause damage. Seems like you drive her pretty hard at times, getting a tune will claw you back a few extra kw, wind back the boost to 12 psi or so, save some cash to get it tuned, sounds like it is a weapon! Drive safe!
