Hey all Happy new year and play it safe

thought i would give you all a heads up about ]

they have a full page yellow pages add here in QLD, and work mainly from Beenleigh to Tweed areas mobile

first a mobile mechanic was called who said it was a coil issue coils or modules or both

and advised a auto sparky was needed

so theseL guys got a call out telling us it would only be a call out fee plus parts no labour as its included in call out fee for an hour or so

the guy rocks up tests a few things and sez strait away its the cas sensor (crank angle)

takes the old one out and dissapears for a day , spending maybe 25-30mins on first visit

returns following day spends a further 30 mins trying to start car after replacing cas sensor the car still wont fire and just turns over

he turns around and sez he needs more info etc and cant fix it now ,

you will have to pay for whats been done or when the car is fixed,

i said ok i will pay when the car is fixed, to his reply it doesnt work like that 300 please

i said im not paying until the car is fixed as thats what was promised

and i now have a car thats cost 300 and is not running

he sez, are you going to pay?

i said no im not paying you,

so he walks over to his van and grabs a set of pliers/cutters

and returns to the my car and threatens to cut all my wiring etc

i said if you do that your going to have some big issues(a little more mouthy thou  )

and you probly wont walk away from this buddy

and you still wont get paid

i will pay you what was agreed you take your money and piss off,

he refuses and wants 300 , i close bonnet lock car and walk away

thinking he is going to get paid he wait 30mins then takes valves out 2 of my tyres and drives off

nice guy

so after letting him know his actions have been documented and reported to authorities ,

he cries innocents and never wanted the money for the part he claims to replaced

i would of paid the agreed amount if i was sure he had replaced the sensor and that was the problem

the car was taken to a reputable work shop now and found he had replaced nothing and it was

the coils and moduals as the first mechanic had diagnosed

the car cost the same to fix and is now actually running!!!

the reputable work shop also told me they fix atleast 3-4 cars a month after

have ripped people off and the cars are still not running

i feel alot better for getting that off my chest

hope it helps save some trouble for others

remember the nad tell your mates never call these people

this was my personal experience and im simply sharing it with others ,take it or leave it

cheers

Do you intend to pursue his threats of vandalism, and actual vandalism to your car through the Police?

Perhaps if his professional conduct it brought to the attention of the Police, and fair trading; he might stop scamming & threatening other car owners.

Just a thought.

Steve Macs Southport are the reputable workshop i mentioned

will only be taking my cars there from now on

i did ring the southport police station and no body answered for 5 mins , rang 3 different times

finally got through to be told they are too busy as its the festive season and its more a fair trading matter

lets just say he would be very silly to return, and would regret it

That is on the assumption that he doesn't get the first punch in and put you down like a bag if spuds.

Violence is the option for people who like to act first and then think about it later when their loved ones are watching them get taken away in the cop car.

Closed and edited.

Business slander will not be tolerated.

Once you've won in a court of law or administrative tribunal - feel free to post up the true and document account of what happened.

And in future, use a specialist workshop - general service type people working on Imports generally doesn't end well.

    • Yes the gear for the R33/34 is different, it is red and has a different number of teeth. My part didn't come with that gear though, so I don't know how many teeth are on the red one. You'd have to reuse the 260RS/R33 gear, as long as it's not destroyed.   Haha, as unfortunate as that might be it was working fine for about the first 1500km I've had the car for now.
    • Update all   thanks to the workshop manual, it lead me back to checking fuses as mentioned central locking and door open lights worked when acc was switched on. diagram attached shows two points of power 1. ACC and 2.  Batt with the later being fused (#28) I did check the fuses using a multimeter but I must have stuffed that up also. Went back and checked the batt fuse in interior fuse box and you wouldn’t believe it… a blown fuse. replaced fuse and everything is now working as it should including the climate control   thank you all with your positive insight and knowledge.
    • Where is the warning "That this thread is super old"   I just went into a 5 year old thread, went to do a reply, and couldn't see anywhere obvious a warning of it being super old
    • Duncan is correct. Pitwork (and Toyota's own cheap brand "Drive Joy") were primarily created as brands to sell other manufacturers car parts. It would be weird if Nissan sold parts for Toyota vehicles with a Nissan logo on it, so they created Pitwork to sell parts for other brans Toyota, Honda etc. They are not the same as Nissan genuine parts, although they *do* meet Nissan's standards for replacement parts. They aren't supposed to be a substitute for genuine parts, but a cheaper alternative that is better than Ebay fake parts from you-know-where.
