When I test drive a car I do the following:

Drive it on as many different speed roads as possible e.g residential and motorways. Open it up on the motorway a bit to see how it handles at speed - not a lot as you are probably not familiar with it. Resdential so you can see how easy/hard it is to drive at the low speed limits and if the car runs away with you at all.

Try it in a parking space for size and ease of parking

Try it in your garage if thats where it is going to be stored

Do some manouveres such as 3 point turn, reverse parallel park, u-turn

Dont have the radio on, listen for transmission and engine noises

Drive it slightly hard but I wouldnt thrash it as most likely there are going to be few people around who you wouldnt want to lose control and hit

Try rear seat space out if you intend to use them

Clearance on speed bumps

Sorry to sound a bore but the above are what I normally do and probably a couple more I cant think of at the moment!

Top 4 things i would look out for on a test drive:

1. test if the clutch can hold power under acceleration, make sure it's not slipping/revving too high without the equivalent acceleration

2. test the Anti-lock Braking System. drive down a quiet residential street at about 30-40km/h and slam on the brakes fairly hard and abrupt so the ABS kicks in (warning: make sure no cars behind, and let the owner know what you're about to do first! :)) You should a) stop very quickly and B) feel the brake pedal pulsing under your foot as the ABS is doing its magic

3. LISTEN for any rattling or knocking sound coming from under or to the rear of the the car, any whining noises from the engine bay, or other unusual sounds.

4. Take the car up to around 90-100, see if there is any shaking or wobbling of the steering wheel. You will know it if there's a major problem with suspension, etc.

But if you're taking a GTR R34 for a joy ride with no intention of buying :D then disregard the above and just boost her up and let it rip, enjoy the ride :headspin:

Is this Gary Lang? Does he still have his blue R34 GTR track car? It has a MASSIVE rear wing. You cant possibly miss it! What about the blown Corvette?

Also, when testing cars, make sure there is adequate space to put your A'pexi Cup holders! hehe

yeah thats the guy

both the blue r34 and the corvette has been sold

he just has the white r34 there now

he still has a supra tt for 20k

1 r33 gtr

on another note the guy who bought the r34 gtr aparently bought it with dosh out of a shoebox. gary sed to him he had enough to buy another one. the guy replied "yeah wrong shoebox"

Bells ringing.... Is this "gary" guy the bloke who had a Black R34, a White R34 and I think he also had a Silver R33 GTR's?? I stand to be corrected, but when I was interested in the Black R34 GTR, I was told not to touch it because the guy selling it was on the dodgy side... But then again aren't most if not all import dealers :)

Didn't CR3ATION get his first Silver R34 from there? He should know if the cars are quality or not, or Bass Junky who has the car now...

What's he asking for the R34 GTR, the not-sold one? Or if you know the price of the sold one?

oh... have a ball with the 34! That's def a dream, to drive a R34 GTR one day... :D

cheers

About the R34 track car, a 19 year old walked in, payed cash, and drove off in it.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
