i will in a few days. its not bad but its defintly noticeable, apparently theres a product car yards use to cover all dash/interior imperfections. im just after a filler to dull the scratches thats all

its not worth going dash doctor though

anyone got a DIY ?

No good fix exist

Black shoe polish and a rag is the best way , you wont find a good dash in australia unless its packing a stock radio no freq expander

The monkey who puts in the expander farks the dash

Recover the lower dash in suede 30 bucks and some time cussing

i was going so slow and gentle but the design of a 34 dash is absolute bullsh*t excuse the french , barely any slack in cables and 400 plugs , gearknobs in way sitting a bucket seat

WOW

I agree!! I also have the same problem with scratches (not too deep, but annoying they're there) whilst i was pulling the dash out to change head unit, do some wiring work, replacing cluster bulbs etc. It's like the head unit is forced to hang on the wires and rest up against/rub up against the dash material and scratch it. Even with towels there, i find it was hard to work with lol, got in the way a lot of the time.

So a rag and shoe polish is the best option there is?

LOL exactly the way i feel when i have to open it up again. One of my globes flickered too, had to pull the legs out a little to have more contact and stay put.

Di noc would be an option but unless your spray glue it on its not going to hold long term

Even with adhesion promoter

The silicone / plastic oils leaches out from past vinyl protection and it falls off

Plus that much wrap is around 100 bucks and some of the curves inner and outter as it comes onto the dash and under steering wheel you would be lucky to get a wrap to make the bend without excessive heat stretch shine

You can do it in real carbon but it would look odd depmding If you had carbon center section ?

The side by your clutch leg rubs so the material must hold up without dying from rubbing

(You wont see it on stock unless you put your head down near it )

plus once you do the wrap your going to want to match all the panels ?? wraps are not the best option

The shoe polish trick works on all but the most screwed dash , if it has slice marks from the cage be sure to use care not to drag off the sliver of vinyl . Make sure you wipe the polish off good so it doesnt get on your clothes !!

the radios must be removed with rags blue taped to dash secure and gear stick knob off is best

Placed in second gear too

the cage is like a dull razor and wires too short the first go round

Dash use this after clear water on a microfiber cloth

http://www.meguiars.com.au/products/car-care/glass-clear-plastic-and-exterior-trim/ultimate-protectant/

Let it sit on dried out plastic after buffing a min

Apply twice if its streaky

The plastics absorb weird if they havent been detailed in a while

Plastic gauge bezels - plastics polish from megs or mothers

Glass use above or eagle brand in shade

Always use microfiber cloths and wash Without fab softener or it will streak forever

Cloth use bissel spot cleansr for couches ( same stuff pros use and megs products )

The megs airfreshener works without stink

Carpets replace or steam clean and dry outside with windows open till 100% dry

followed by scotchgaurd on seats and flloors , door inserts , but painter tape off the door plastics first

Leather Steering wheels use saddle soap followed by the clear waterproof or black boot polish then buff off well

hey Mike i used the black shoe polish it was pretty good, make sure you get a good chunk of the polish on your cloth and just lightly rub it over the scratches and all around it too, looks nice, doesn't smell too bad either (ahhahaah)

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
