Hi guys my r33 gts N/A is bogging down in power in 1st and 2nd gear at about 3 to 4,500 rev mark and wont go beyond that it is only a intermittent problem .

Things done to car at service...

1 fuel fiter and all rubber lines

2 air filter high flow

3 cleaned maf meter

4 new coils and plugs

5 new 10w-40 oil and filter

6 done all vacuum hoses

engine mods...

1 full 2.5'' system

2 high flow air filter not a pod

3 bigger injectors and fuel pump

4 turbo computer to control injectors as the n/a one inst tuned to run 370cc injectors.

With those mods the car runs fine but every now and again it wont rev in the first 2 gears it seems to do it if you drive stop turn it off and start it later and it will do the bogging thing.

fixed power issue now have a dead cylinder i change the fuel injectors it started run fine and test drive was all good got home went to start it it took a minute to start then it was missing on one of the cylinders it is a constant miss a dead cylinder

Stick with the N/A computer and re-map to suit bigger injectors.

i cant get the computer remapped apparently and the bigger injectors were in stalled because i was going to bolt a turbo on but was told it will blow my engine so last nite i put it back to n/a standard but the old injectors are leaking and need new orings

running an ecu from an engine that is designed to have lower compression and a turbo bolted to it isn't going to be helping one bit. it may even be causing some serious damage to your engine, depending on what the AFR's are like.

yea lol i was going to turbo it but was told it would blow it up so i tried to see how it would go with those injectors appears no good so its all back to n/a standards but waiting on new injector orings for the stock injectors as there leaking

Who said it would blow up, running <7 psi should be fine, many people have done it infact there's a sticky in the NA section about it :/

a mate of mine said who is a mechanic but has a skyline said it wouldn't work unless i run low boost like 4psi

It has to do with the compression ratio of an NA motor being higher then that of a turbo motor, resulting in a higher likely hood of detention on pump fuel even at the same boost levels. But in saying that there is power to be made from de+t ing an RB25.

Hell my mate had an old dirty thirty Natro, bolted on a ling long spec 35 and made great power for what it was, has just purchased a water meth kit for it and with more boost wound into it should see fairly decent figures...

I'm not going to say this is the best option but it definetly is one :) (just have a read through that thread you'll see)

Your mate is a complete dumbass. Its been done before, there's a dude on here running 18psi through one on 98 octane. Been going for a few years too.

this is building up confidence and i will save up for the stuff so i can convert it i need hoses intercooler oil cooler turbo piping stock turbo i have need seal or i might buy a new one pump is done an radiator is done old rad exploded one day after i got home

More to the point it can be done and with quite pleasing results. What would get most people I imagine is getting greedy and continuing to wind more and more boost in, in this situation with the high comp (something like 9.5:1? Not exactly sure) it will go pop....

I know quite a few turbo cars that run 9.5:1 comp and 20+psi on 98 octane ;) its all in the tune. Aslong as everything is kept in check it will live a long and fun life.

It could be more then that (its been a while since I cared about Natro RB motors). Tune is very important but that's like any car the tune makes or breaks the setup.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
