Hi all,

This is my first post but i have been a long time reader of SAU it has helped me out numerous times.

However i have a problem that no one else has and was seeking guidance on how to go about fixing it.

So in sydney been raining hard for the last couple of days so drive my stag to work all is fine, go to drive home strange things start to happen.

So M35 is having electrical seizers and by that i mean when i turn the engine over the head lights start flashing the tacho bounces from 0 - 7k, the temp gauge goes hot to cold engine lights flash on and off, the indicators work intermittently the window wipers are the same. The car drives fine, seems to shift a bit rough but heres the weird thing everything works normal if you leave the car on battery and dont turn the engine on.

Ok so the things i have tried to fix it

checked codes 0000

reset codes

disconnect the battery and unplug the ECU

checked all the fuses every thing ok

Im not that car savy so if you could point me in the right direction that would be great.

Thanks

Hhahah. Water in The body control module.

In the Rhs of the drivers footwell, there is a hatch to the fuse box. Open her up, and check for moisture. You need to dry it out with a hair dryer of some thing. If it gets a bit damp, weird stuff starts happening. Just ask jetwreck!

if youre in Sydney or Melbourne, there are spare parts available if you need them. stuff may have started corroding, but drying them should get it back.

also check the negative connection on the battery, and connections to the chassis.

when you get some time, take out the BCM and spray some electrical lubricant behind it, stop the exposed wiring and contacts from getting corroded.

good work on drying it out!

im so glad i noticed this thread the other day.... wife woke up to go to work this morning, and same thing.. nothing working, exactly the same symptoms as above..

i do have one additional question... how the heck is water getting into the foot well?

are there any known places and preventatives..as its the wifes car id like this not to happen again if possible.\

really makes to box shift terribly as well.

    • No worries.  I have a set of Zeals to get me through for the moment but would definitely be interested in a full set of Bilsteins. Are you doing race support these days? I drove past the Bend when I picked up the 260 rs but never driven the course. How does it compare to SMSP? I'll be at SMSP tomorrow afternoon and on the 26th of June in the morning. I'll be in a very loud (straight through exhaust and straight cut gears) silver R35 GTR. Cheers, Andrew
    • Hey all. I'm up to doing my oil and water feed lines. Has anyone done a tutorial on this on a 25det Neo? ( I know i should be asking for a tutorial on how to use the search instead, but I couldn't find anything specific) I'm running a Pulsar 3584 on a 6 boost manifold. I could use some advice on what fittings, sizes and where to run the lines. Thanks for any help.
    • Hi, I have someone interested, if it falls through I'll let you know.  I have a brand new set of fronts that  I sourced from Bilstein UK, now revalved and complete with springs to go with the very lightly used rears, if you are interested in a full set. As Duncan has mentioned this is not my job, I sold my suspension business over 10 years ago, but I am here to help when I have the time.  To give you some idea of my schedule I was at SMSP for the State Championship for 4 days the weekend before last.  Then The Bend for 4 days last week and back at SMSP testing this week, a day visit to One Raceway, then the SMSP Day Night meeting the weekend after.  I was hoping to squeeze in a dyno day with Scott on my R32 this week, but that's not going to happen, that's the second time I have had to postpone. Apologies if my responses are slow.   Cheers Gary
    • Talking about tools, my trombone cleaner arrived, talk about weird speciality tools....
    • Ha ha ha, I read that he had it based on brownie points so knew it wasn't going to be sold   I also am only shit stirring on buying, while they'd all be great cars, I don't need more, I actually sold one a few weeks ago. And immediately bought more tools...
