Hi everyone, my name is Kiley and I'm actually on here from the USA. I don't have a Skyline because well, they're not legal here. So I did the next best thing and bought what we call a 240sx (not sure if they call them that there or not) and installed a RB26 out of an R33 skyline GT-R. So I got that going for me.

What's my reasoning for joining your site then you may ask? I've been wanting to go single turbo on my RB26 and need to sell my current twin turbo setup. I've tried on my continent but hope I can find some interest on yours too!

I'll post some pictures of it and a link to my build thread on one of the American forums so you can tell I'm a real person. But here's some basics of the car. Look for the stuff for sale in the "parts for sale" section soon. Thanks!

How the car looked when I first got it:

A couple tables of parts for the motor:

18x12 inch SSR Professor SP3's for the wheels:

All back together and ready to go in the car:

Getting the car tuned:

460whp (not sure what that equals in your terms!) on 93 octane pump gas.

Nearly didnt fit with the BN Blister widebody kit:

First test drive!

So again thanks for checking it out. I'm honored to be on a site with so many very nice, very real skylines.

that is shit hot.

and i bet it cost you f**k all cos you live in maryker.

god damn that would be so illegal in victoria! all the best man, and more pictures/videos. get that on proper fuel and retune it.

Ah and as I said here is my build thread:

Here's a video for anyone interested in hear HKS272 cams on an RB26 at idle. One of my favorite short videos of the car:

And here's a video from the guy that tuned it. Shows the Haltec Racepack dash I have as well as a dyno sheet at the end:

Thanks for the good words! It was a very expensive build here since no parts are available. I actually got a lot from Australia because they seem pretty common there.

I would have thought your laws would be easier on cars since you can actually have skylines there. You have so many cars I wish I could get here.

wow brother! australian prices must have scared the shit out of you!

im not too sure on laws for standard cars. but in the state of victoria the police do not look kindly upon modified cars!

im pretty sure if they saw yours on the road they would just shoot you on the spot. :woot:

all the best with the sale and stuff man......

Pricing was better in Australia then in the US! Shipping was just more expensive than usual, but not unreasonable.

Hardest thing was finding factory parts like valve spring shims for adjusting them. We couldn't find any and didnt want to risk not being able to find any in future valve adjustments so we got Kawasaki street bike valve shims and machined my valve retainers to accept them for spacing. Little extra work but Kawasaki bike shims are a lot easier to get than RB26 ones here!

Other than that it was a lot of fun and certainly worth it for something very rare around here.

Our police don't take kindly to it either due to it being straight pipe exhaust....but I'll keep my bullet proof vest on if I ever come to AU then!

dont liten to this guy. hes put a 30 year old v8 in his r33.

My V8s newer then your cast block 6 ya smeg head lol

Plus i said I liked the car :/

looks farken hawt!

welcome.

also, its a 240sx over there, but the combo of that front and that rear wasnt available here or japan from factory.

the front is from a 180sx.

the rear(shell) is an s13 silvia.

and yes, alot of the mods youve made, couldnt even get close to legal over here.

but trust me when i say, if we could, we would.

and are NO skylines legal?

i thought it was just the gtr's?

hope you enjoy our site.

if you ever come to aus, come to one of our runs and have a chat.

we're all pretty friendly people.

Good to hear you guys appear to be having fun on this forum. They've kind of died over here because everyone's to serious!

Everyone here always tries to put the "JDM Silvia" front end on my body style, but I'm a fan of the flip ups for some reason. Like you said it was never offered anywhere else as far as I've found so it seemed different world wide even though its not different here.

I thought from all the RB parts I've found from there that it was pretty much anything goes over there! You've crushed my dreams by telling me you apparently have a stricter government then we do.

As for no Skylines being legal, none are to be brought straight over. Something like 96-98 R33 gtr's are but you have to do a lengthy and expensive legalization process like changing the car to OBDII and some emissions system work. But 96-98 GTR's are the only ones that were ever crash tested. You can get any as track cars but none legal to drive on the road yet. We have a 25 year "classic car" rule so we can start bringing in R32's next year under that. Canada only has a 15 year so they've been bringing them in for a while now up north.

And if I ever come over there it would be one of my goals now to meet up with a skyline meet. I'll keep it in mind thanks!

Awesome build all the shiny new parts on the bench are what wet dreams are made of! :woot:

Welcome to SAU this is the best site for RB tech lotsa the guys here REALLY know their shit

I actually came here a lot during the build. Most info I could find on the RB that was in English and I could mostly understand.

    • Yeh I think i'll message an old contact i had for ages that manages his own tyre shop now.. n tell him what i want n work with him before ordering..  Got this 17x9 +30 Driftteks on 245/45/17 PSR Drag Radials on the rear.. They fit well - for your reference in future - Rear guards  have been lipped in & minimal to non flaring of the rear Gaurds.
    • If only it were that easy! I also needed to remove seats, shocks, brake calipers, send my car through a fence, and use measuring and ended up guessing because I didn't remove seats, shocks and brake calipers. It can be hard sometimes Can be a little more complex than 'just measure' if you want to truly measure the entire wheel through all of it's suspension travel. But if you aren't going for every last mm then yeah, you can check the space you currently have and guesstimate.
    • If you own a car, and it has wheels on it, and you know the offset of those wheels, and you have a measuring device, you have everything you need to work out if other wheels will fit.
    • Will this fit? but they are staggered set - RAYS 57DR SEMI GLOSS BLACK 18x8.5 +37 | 18x9.5 +38 5-114.3 STAGGERED SET   or If no go could just get a set 4's wheels of 18x8.5 +37 5-114.3 - would i run 8.5's 235s up front n 245's at the back if I do?   Thanks.
    • Put a clamp on your return line. I have a feeling it's sucking air, and introducing bubbles to your fuel. With a lot of fuel, less problematic. I'd honestly be redoing all the lines in the tank and clamps on everything.   Also, you've given two different answers to the same question: Asked if being followed by the police you could get down to use the whole tank, you said yes you could, so long as you keep off boost. However, you then followed this up that free revving, it would also cause the issues. I'm doubting free revving is enough to make any noticeable boost on what is likely a decent sized turbo.   So now I have to ask, can you actually drive it lightly and use all the fuel, or does it break up even free revving? Also, have you put a fuel pressure gauge on it? Can you hear the pump change noise at all when you're having this issue?
