Thanks all for the awesome day! :) Glad I didn't end up getting lost :P

Good to meet people.

Loving the pics!

and yeah, keen for the next one :)

The guys with gopros (or similar) get any decent videos? some aaarrbbee noise? :)

I got a little bit of crappy in cabin footage but not alot of outside noise, mostly rattles and bumps. :/

Didn't get the whole cruise (unfortunately.) I forgot to set it up properly and actually set up the cam as we were driving.

Yeah i don't think it came out that great. Lots of wind noise and besides that he said it just looks like a Golf going for a drive haha. Was the first time using it so i think he'll get it more finely tuned before something a bit more exciting like texi or wakie.

Yeah I always thought that would be an issue with external cameras. Might be worth getting a sound recorder aswell and mounting that somewhere else.. Might have a little better audio quality?

Hahaha, yeah most of mine looks like I was going for a drive behind a Golf, and then a Silver R33. Still kinda cool though.

and yeah, need to refine techniques. Might try a mini disc recorder for sound.

Hey! Nothing wrong with that silver r33 :P

Yeah disk recorder would work well I think.

I think this would be a good position for a recorder, but maybe tilt it up more..

Pretty much lol. If we pooled all the footage from different cameras you might be able to do a neat montage but as Shell said, mine looked like a Golf-driving-blonde that got caught up with some riff raff :P

Hahaha

So, I was asked by quite a few people if my car was a "J Car" No idea what that means.

Many years ago there was a guy named Jerry who owned a shop called J-Racing. Jerry had a brother named Johnny who also worked at J-Racing, whom originally owned a pretty cool looking Honda Civic. Johnny got rid of the Honda and started being spotted in a bright orange R33, which became known as the "J-Racing Skyline".

Johnny moved to Sydney and worked for Jetspeed, whom J-Racing got a lot of stock from.

Hence the questions about "is that the old J-Racing Skyline"? If it was the Jetspeed car then it is indeed the J-Racing Skyline.

Nothing bad, just some nostalgia for us older members from "back in the days". Good to see it back in the hands of a respectful owner :)

Edit: and it seems J-Racing still exist purely as a smash repairer and bodykit shop in Fyshwick.

Arhh, some light shredded ! Now I got the correct story of the car(:

Cheers ! Oldm8 Helga (Named already haha) has shown a different side to her at the cruise. I'm tempted to fix the rail damage and do it up, time and costs are involved. But, we'll see how we go.

(Might take it to Fyshwick smash repairs and see if they'll give me a friendly discount given it was their old car :D)

I accidentally deleted my footage from the weekend. That would have been exciting to watch haha.

Also, if you have a GoPro's on the outside of a car, we normally put tissues or foam to over the mics in the housing.

I have video footage... but im not very good at internet or computers.

If you want i can email to you

OR

someone tell me how to upload it to sau- SIMPLE instructions for a simpleton pls

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
