Yah cruise is still going ahead, unless a cyclone whips up in the next hour.

I wanted to come but it's my missus birthday and we have plans.I'll come to the meet point though to say hi. This would have ben my first sau event.

Bummer mate, still we will have more events coming soon. There is a happylaps at QR at the end of the month, always a good way to learn about your car.

Well what can I say?

A fantastic day with a fantastic group of people! :)

To those I hadn't met previously, it was great to meet you all today and I hope to see at upcoming events.

Thanks goes to Cadmoon for organinsing the cruise and booking the pub for lunch. It was good to see 34 people at the pub for lunch. Great effort all! Thanks to the Toowoomba crowd for coming out to great and eat with the likes of us from Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. Besides our little run in with the Peugeot coming into Esk, I am impressed with the way everyone represented the club today with such good behavior.

If the upcoming cruises are going to be anything like today's, I can't wait for them!

I hope to scenic way home from Esk enjoyable. :)

Brett, where did you disappear to mate?

I had some nasty noises coming from the lower ball joints on the car and only really noticed how bad they actually were once I was moving it about in the car park at the planetarium. Seems they gave up the ghost at Norwell when I noticed the noise first but of course only got worse since. I decided it was probably not the best idea to drive it to Toowoomba after all. Street Sprints at QR tomorrow are now out also.

I'll keep an eye out for the Happy Laps at the end of the month, it'll be fixed by then and I'll come to that.

Didnt know Tony played Lead Guitar ??? Scott, agreed, was a great day .. Kath and I had a great time meeting you and all the others we havent met before, Although my passenger didnt enjoy the quick windy roads at the end, will be spending tmr getting all the fingernails out of the passenger door handle..

Michael , thank you for organising , great job !!

We must get a few more R35's to join us..

Bahahahaha what a knob shiner! If he had any intelligence or consideration, he would've let us past! Bet he was a houso! ;)

Guys, must say, it was an excellent day out! Loved every bit - except the STL by a certain someone...

Huge thanks go out to all you guys for behaving and driving responsibly. There was that issue with the Peugeot but these things happen.

Massive thanks to Mike for organising an awesome day out and to Chris as well for rallying the Toowoomba troops.

The steak was HUGE and really nicely done.

Chantalle and Tyler really enjoyed themselves as well. Overall, was really worth the painful back.

34 people at lunch?! That's huge!

Highlight of the day was driving through Toowoomba and seeing the expression on people's faces. "WTF is a Maxima doing there?" :P

Thanks to everyone for making this a great day!

Definitely look forward to the next one. Sunny coast or Gold coast maybe? Head down on a Friday night, book a hotel and come back Saturday after lunch. ;)

I agree a very enjoyable day out, even if it did use 40L of fuel. Thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a good day. If you guys don't mind giving us some feedback on what you did and didn't like and anything you could change or suggestions you have that would be great. We are doing this for you after all

We are looking as possibly having some overnight cruises and events depending on the level if interest we get.

Also sadly we can't force people to come otherwise there would have been several 100 skylines ;)

    • Yeah well per the video it took 15s for the stock unit to start up....even if I give it a few seconds discount for starting that is at least 12 sec before you get a reverse camera if you are trying to leave a park.  The android unit is way faster, but 2016 for the stock unit is a long time ago in consumer electronics
    • Yea that’s why I said ima test them with multimeter and see the reads.
    • Only at idle. Isn’t a problem when rev it seems.
    • @Haggerty This seems silly to ask, but are you confident in your ability to tune the Haltech?
    • Next on the to-do list was an oil and filter change. Nothing exciting to add here except the oil filter is in a really stupid place (facing the engine mount/subframe/steering rack). GReddy do a relocation kit which puts it towards the gearbox, I would have preferred towards the front but there's obviously a lot more stuff there. Something I'll have to look at for the next service perhaps. First time using Valvoline oil, although I can't see it being any different to most other brands Nice... The oil filter location... At least the subframe wont rust any time soon I picked up a genuine fuel filter, this is part of the fuel pump assembly inside the fuel tank. Access can be found underneath the rear seat, you'll see this triangular cover Remove the 3x plastic 10mm nuts and lift the cover up, pushing the rubber grommet through The yellow fuel line clips push out in opposite directions, remove these completely. The two moulded fuel lines can now pull upwards to disconnect, along with the wire electrical plug. There's 8x 8mm bolts that secure the black retaining ring. The fuel pump assembly is now ready to lift out. Be mindful of the fuel hose on the side, the hose clamp on mine was catching the hose preventing it from lifting up The fuel pump/filter has an upper and lower section held on by 4 pressure clips. These did take a little bit of force, it sounded like the plastic tabs were going to break but they didn't (don't worry!) The lower section helps mount the fuel pump, there's a circular rubber gasket/grommet/seal thing on the bottom where the sock is. Undo the hose clip on the short fuel hose on the side to disconnect it from the 3 way distribution pipe to be able to lift the upper half away. Don't forget to unplug the fuel pump too! There's a few rubber O rings that will need transferring to the new filter housing, I show these in the video at the bottom of this write up. Reassembly is the reverse Here's a photo of the new filter installed, you'll be able to see where the tabs are more clearing against the yellow OEM plastic Once the assembly is re-installed, I turned the engine over a few times to help build up fuel pressure. I did panic when the car stopped turning over but I could hear the fuel pump making a noise. It eventually started and has been fine since. Found my 'lucky' coin underneath the rear seat too The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLJ65pmQt44&t=6s
