I am a mechanic guys I have been involved with and have driven very fast cars I want a turbo yes but I don't froth over turbos like some.

I don't mind having less power if I can use the power I have IE: racetrack style torque profiles.

I have seen rb30 heads that flow enough for 330hp which would want my engine to spin at about the mark I am looking for 8k which is where I will be shooting.

My engine stand comes soon dedicated to this build pistons are next $700 ill be contacting crankshaft rebuilders for a price to do the crank and I am thinking 26 rods.

The head is back to me before machining so I can work out belt's and other little things a mate just blew to 30's at the mattsuri comp so ill be having one for bolts and other parts.

Like a turbo car.......?

Nothing like a turbo car. The power will actually be instantaneous. If you have a turbo that comes on only over 4K, even once you're over those revs and stand on it, it takes time for power to appear. Sounds like some people may be surprised at how much a very driveable lower powered engine can still pull a lap time down.

I know, I used to have a cammed RB30 NA. Power and Torque was nice. Not blowing anything away but it was a nice delivery.

I'm just saying, theres a reason why car/engine manufacturers are going DOHC or Quad cam when in V configuration. Just remember there is no VCT with the RB30 head

But anyway, I'm not going to say anymore. Advice has been given, noone is forced to take advice, and thats fine. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion etc.

i actually meant the 5.5l new small block lol

But that is a smaller engine with new tech. A bit like how the rb25 was better than the rb30. However in this case the op is taking the smaller, newer engine and bolting on the old tech.

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
