Fellow coppermix users, I was told by my mechanic (new workshop) that my clutch might be worn. He said that due to the amount of free play before the clutch actually engaged. But I told him thats how it felt from day one and the difference is I cant ride as much when it was first installed.

Background of the clutch is, the gearbox was rebuilt by a reputable mechanic in Brisbane and the coppermix was brand new. The clutch after installation felt like stock. Free play was the same but it would either bite or not bite. You cannot really ride the clutch much. I was thinking this is the bed in period. After say 2 months, its how it feels like now. The clutch is not slipping and engaging and disengaging well.

I've only ever launch the thing less than 10times (during drag day) and from what I read on the coppermix, it should hold fairly well. Car is only 340awhp and I dont drive like a hoon.

My question is, is the free play normal for the coppermix? Could this be just a coppermix design? Cheers.

Sorry for posting this but found the answer in another section of the forum. Seems like the free play is normal. The mechanic problem isnt used to a twinplate feeling so comfortable.
