fark i am surprised with the responses here

my advice is:

- forget about a loan for a car. you will be paying it off still when you're 30

- R33GTSt is illegal on your P's. that means if the cop has half a brain then you can be fined and lose your liscence on the spot for a period of time longer than one month (not sure how long it is)

- insurance company will insure you but if you make a claim they can deny you the claim based on the fact that you are illegally driving the car!

- so basically, i would keep the R31 and do it up a bit. get some driving experience (comes with time, not intellegence) and when you're 21 or so you can but an R33 or better outright and then you really will be laughing at 18 year old's that are talking about selling their souls for a car that is illegal for them!

best of luck!

buy a silvia (or an R32), its a good steppin stone to a powerful skyline and it'll teach you how to handle a mildly quick car. its not expensive either.

Later on in your life when your finances are better mod your car into a beast (what I'm doin now... say hello to my TD06 ) or sell it as it is, lose a lil money and buy your dream car.

Debt is the worse thing you can incur this early in life. Trust me, been there, done that.

and krzysiu... good luck... you're gonna need it... for once INASNT isn't alone in his views. ;)

insurance companies are plebs they insured me as a 23 year old while I was 21 due to data entry error, even though they had my birthdate correct : god bless Just cars and their silly staff

Yes to cash! I saved for 2 years and have got the Poosar in the mean time, paid outright and still got some left over for some investement, smart shit like not buying a GT-T  No loan, crazy interest rates.

I think the way that insurance companies don't worry about P's and power to weight is because Vic Roads allows the car to be registered. The only prob would be if you went to register a locally delivered R32 GTR.. well prob any R32 GTR. Only one on record. Just Cars seem to pay out for p platers on turbo cars afaik, so they don't seem to have a prob with it?

lol dont be harsh INASNT  i should have scratched ur car when i saw it at ice ;)

P plater with 0 driving experience in a high powered car = bad news.

For an example go back to ICE and have a look at the White R32 GTR that is there which looks like a banana after kissing a light pole.

This is not true... i have asked several cops and they also say it is legal to drive them, And also Vic roads has a list of cars that p Platers cant drive and it does not appear on that list.

James.

I totaly agree, If it's not illegal to drive them on your P's it should be! There is no way in hell I'd let my son (If I had one) drive a turbo 32,33 or 34 on his P's full stop.

i have been told by several cops that you aren't allowed to. all this while they scan my bay for a turbo...

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
