I know this kind of defeats the purpose.

But has any one experienced how much power you actually loose by not being able to pump in as much timing etc. when running the car on ULP and Mapping the ECU to suit.

Reason being is petrol now nudging over the $1 mark per litre and is it really worth paying the extra 10c per litre when you might only gain an extra 10rwkw or so?

Or is it impossible to run a 200rwkw+ car on ULP and dropping the timing out?

Not that the car will be driven much any way but it was a thought that crossed my mind.

Especially when fuel is supposed to be dropping its RON to a max of 94 in a few years time. Apparently...

joel I think its possible but!!!!!

not with a small turbo if you went to a t4 and had a thicker head gasket yes but you would be running lower boost.

the set up would cost more than the 10 cents a liter you would save unless you plan on keeping the car for a long time.

I think tuning a car to run on 95octane is very possible

but regular ulp would be a bigger ask as the ron drops to 89 or so some times
