So I was browsing carsales.com.au and came across this:

http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?Cr=0&R=SSE-AD-1146733

Its apparently a V35x - 2008 model, with the usual 3.5L V6, and a 7 speed auto gearbox.

My understanding is that the 2008 model skyline coupes were all V36 370GT's.. This car seems like its a V35x from 2007 latest, but somehow has a 7 speed box in it...

Anyone know of this car?

It has too many kms on it for my liking, but I'd be interested to know if it's legit.

NFI what he is talking about.

Car is a OCT 2003.

frame # in Ad is wrong, should be CPV, as its a Coupe. Has S1 interior to back up being a 2003.

last of the v35s were made in 2006. No such thing as a V35x. And yes interior is a dead giveaway...its only a series 1.

2006 for Sedans, 2007 for Coupes. And yes, four wheel drive in some of the sedans. But this guy seems on the piss. If you're actually interested in buying the car though, call him and get the VIN, that'll answer most of your questions...

Or just click on the link I posted....

And when you Google the vin, surprise, suprise you come across 2 cached links to the original ad for it that says 2003. So he has KNOWINGLY changed it from 2003 to 2008. I assume 2008 is the compliance date? Someone who does not know Skylines that well might fall for the compliance date on the purple sticker as the build date guess

Could be a clean car. Price seems fairs. I wouldn't write it off just because the owner may have selected the wrong model when setting up the ad.

And if he really doesn't know anything about cars, more power to a savvy negotiator.

Play on!

That one is definitely a series 3 - has the recessed tail-lights, chrome door handles and projectors. Also it is a 70th anniversary model, as I am pretty sure they were the only ones to come with full leather.

agreed. not sure if the neon lights inside and out were S3 specific though......unless the owner ticked the 'xzibit pack' option box.

Great combo on that car otherwise. Best colour, best year, with sunroof. Tick, Tick, Tick!

    • I know -_- Oddly enough I went to a car show this weekend and not a single person made any mention of Nitrous... I did have to argue with a know it all that was convinced I had an RB26 head with HKS V-Cam as opposed to a regular VCT RB25 head, but what do I know. I think my HKS oil cap was throwing him off.
    • That seems like a lot more work than just using a second jack under a front tow hook to raise it enough to get another jack under it.
    • They're wonderful when only used to lift your car up an inch so a real jack fits under your front lip. Besides that, I've only ever used them on the side of the road.  We call them widow makers here.  Unfortunately, like I mentioned in another post, ramps are not an option for me due to generally working on my car once my kids are asleep. Cold starts, 4" exhaust and sleep rarely go well together. I honestly find using ramps a hell of a lot more work than what I'm currently doing anyways.
    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
