Installing Oil Pressure Gauge

Recommended Posts

Yes that is it, It is 1/8 BSP on the block

It is there for cars not fitted with an oil cooler, I'm not sure if theres any in the RB25 range but It's there if there was ever a day that this was the case.

Won't need to drain oil to install a sensor there, you will only lose whatever oil was in the gallery at the time. So if you leave the engine overnight most of the oil should have drained out of that section

Great thanks for the clarification. Will try fitting the sensor on this weekend and hope it fits and works well. Fingers crossed.

ahh, so it's already plumbed to the stock oil cooler (in standard scenario)?

Not exactly

Take an RB30 for example. There is no oil cooler on these and they still need a spot for the oil pressure gauge, so they have this port on the block for the sender. RB20 is about the same situation from memory.

Seen as the RB25 is just an update of these, it still has the oil pressure port, but because the sender goes in the oil cooler then there is no need for it so it is just plugged off.
