Yeah, they are: Myles (GreenGhost) just bought and fitted a new set of HSD coilovers, and the fronts were the same as S14. Bonus for him was adjustable camber tops: My RSFour set didn't get them...

FYI: he also managed to get R34 GTT front calipers to fit with a little bit of fiddling.

Rear suspension is the same on both 4wd and RWD, as far as I am aware: Told Myles to get his lazy self back on the forums and give you as much info as he has: give it time - He'll get around to it.

r33 front brakes and rotors will fit with a wahser/spacer to line then up

rear brakes r34 will fit straight up

rear shocks are the same as 4wd

fronts shocks are s14

gearbox is same as r34

ottomoto do coilovers for s2 rwd and are awesome

Another RS S2 owner signing in.

All I can add is that an RB30 will drop straight in with no drilling of mounts using stock manifold.

Cant fit the strut brace on without spacing it up, or perhaps a non traction control throttle body would give a little more clearance.

Unless the 2wd has an entirely different suspension to the 4wd all he will be adjusting is the angle of the shocks - not the camber.

2wd front is entirely different. It is mcpherson strut, strut towers also look different.

Can also add that the whiteline rear swaybar does fit, but you need to slot out the u brackets a bit and make some spacers (about 15mm per side) to straigten up the links as the rs rear end is wider for some reason. You can get by without the spacers, but the links are on a crazy angle and I wouldn't recommend it.

Another addition, as the front suspension is different, the info for s2 brake conversions doesnt apply to rs. The mounting holes are 12mm, so the same options are a direct fit as for an s1, eg r33 brakes. I wanted to use 34gtt brakes, and made new inserts for the callipers with an m12x1.25 threads rather than drilling out the knuckles as some guys have done. If anyone wants a photo or info let me know, but if you look at the callipers its pretty obvious :)

WHile this is an old thread by 2+ years. This is what i have found out about the rwd stagea,

- They use the McPhersons strut front suspension setup of the S15 (Bottom arm, 5 stud hub, shock etc)

- They have a 2 pot brake caliper and 280mm S14/S15 rotors

- The rear has no hicas

- Has an S15 rear subframe/arm setup (S15 hubs, S15 style subframe I Have measured this.

- Uses an R33 internal drum handbrake with an S14 style single pot sliding caliper

- Diff 4:1 VLSD

Other stuff I found out:

- 296mm R33 GTST Callipers/Rotors bolt straight up which means 33GTR Brembo's/350z Brembo's will too

- R34 GTT callipers/rotors WILL NOT fit, unless you drill out the hub as the calipers use larger bolts

- S14/15 adjustable rear arms etc all fit

- Uses S-body/R-body suspension bushes

- Tension rods are S14/15-R33/34

- Tie rods and ends are S14/S15

    • Resizing injectors in Nistune can be done a couple of ways, and there are a couple of ways that you can make a mess of it. The tuner needs to be really aware of the effects of whichever approach he uses (either K, or TIM). They are both easy enough to "get the injector size right" to run the engine. But little details like old start enrichment and hot start are affected differently, depending on which boxes you check.
    • Pretty safe to say almost everyone that has tuned their own car has experienced this issue. The difference being that we have our laptop in the car and when it happens, it's literally 10 seconds of tuning to sort it.  Would you be happy to plug in your laptop and sort this yourself? It is a very simple process and there is no risk of harming your engine (if you are worried about that).
    • Yeah thats the next step now, either they wil or i will take out for a drive to work and go straight their after work and see is we get the same issues 🤞  thought i try my luck here too, never know someone else might have had the same issue but thanks for the reply
    • Basically your tuner needs to drive it for the 30 min (or whatever) to create the same conditions then check the ECU settings and sensors at that time. They may not be excited to because that takes them 30 min rather than just opening the bonnet and seeing the problem straight away.... Hot start is generally not as tricky as cold start, but there would be a table for fuel enrichment vs coolant temp as a starting point
    • Yeah, they all cant say anything for sure as everything is working fine . Said unable to find an issue untill it stops again. Could mist likely be CAS wiring or IAS valve issue but again not 100%
