Sinista32
Sounds like a bad experience has been had Would pay NRMA for 24hr road service only - that's the good of it. Shannons insure my Skyliners and I'm more than happy with them. 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/430967-wouldnt-trust-nrma-to-walk-my-dog/#findComment-6991667 Share on other sites

defectnotice
Just put up with a claim that dragged out for over 3 months after my car was a "victim" of a hit and run and still got done up the ass, they don't care how long you have been with them or how much you pay in premiums. Just giving everyone a heads up basically lol Bullet point: Hit and run Nrma f**k around f**k around Rude flamin mongrel f**k around f**k around 3 months later very low cash settlement and minus your 600gie excess for doing f**k all Cheers dream boats haha Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/430967-wouldnt-trust-nrma-to-walk-my-dog/#findComment-6991705 Share on other sites

niZmO_Man
Parents are with NRMA, been with them for 10+ years. Didn't have issues when making claims though. I'm surprised they stuffed you around if your car was a victim in a hit and run. Redline_GTR
Heard similar stories lately about NRMA with someone here at work. Their car was hit and written off and it took about 3 odd months to sort it out. In the mean time they had to get a new car otherwise no way of transportation. On the other hand yes my parents have been with NRMA for decades and no problems ... Rhysee
Also NRMA will use cheap aftermarket parts and second hand parts to keep the price of repairs down. They are scum. mad082
That's the thing to remember when looking at insurance. Some companies will be cheaper, but they may not pay out as easily, or as much. Redline_GTR
It is a shame when things like this happen especially with one of the bigger insurance companies I think everyone is having a new look through their fine print on their policy now ay. Sinista32
If not at fault you maintain your 60% no claim and receive the insured value. If not a write off then repaired to your satisfaction. As for the 3months wait - that's plain BS. 1-2 weeks max to assess damage and 1-2 weeks to payout or select/approve repairers quote. Timeframe to remediate depends on repairers quote being accepted, parts availability and shops workload. luke gtr
im with nrma. PURELY because it was cheaper to get 3rd party property and greenslip, then just greenslip with any other company. so its like I got free insurance. GTR-N1
Yup, NRMA Insurance arm were on the nose 10 yrs ago > lost lots of business due to arguments over choice of replacement parts and quotations. I'd hate to see that old brigade back! Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/430967-wouldnt-trust-nrma-to-walk-my-dog/#findComment-6992883 Share on other sites

I thought you only kept your no claim bonus for not at fault accidents only if you gave them details of the driver at fault. So if you walk out to your car and find it damaged and no-one saw it happen then it's not really a "not at fault" claim Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/430967-wouldnt-trust-nrma-to-walk-my-dog/#findComment-6993021 Share on other sites
