How Does The Oil Feed Work?

It's a bit worrying though that you asked the question that you did. The VCT solenoid is an electric valve that opens or closes to allow the oil pressure to make the actuator turn (when on) or spring return (when off). The oil is a hydraulic power supply. As such, wondering if the VCT somehow "draws" the oil to it is a bit.....um.....strange.

The turbo has oil primarily to float the bearing (assuming sleeve bearing), which is no different to the main bearings in the engine, receiving oil under pressure to keep the hydrodynamic bearings floating so they don't gall up and seize. Even if the turbo is ball bearing, the oil is still supplied (and therefore pushed through the bearing) with the intention to lubricate (and cool) the bearing. Again, wondering if the turbo somehow sucks the oil from the sump is a bit strange.
