Mugabetown - Whoretownin' At It's Worst.

Recommended Posts

It's pretty simple. I don't feel ready.

If I don't feel ready it's because I'm not ready.

I want to build my confidence slowly and safely.

Not jeopardise everything in one hit because being pushed into something I am not ready for.

I can't be anymore clearer than that and will not be participating to this track day in June.

I will however be happy to spectate to see how it all unfolds

Give me time guys that is all

Fair enough Ants, happy laps first then?

Need to start thinking about a new turbo and not sure which route to take, thinking highflow or a bolt on. I want something that can make about 250 kw and decent response, anyone have any suggestions?

have a look at those precision turbos Mike.

They seem to spool up damn fast and will easily make 250+kw

Having said that I prefer bolt in applications

Yeah I'm after something bolt on.

6266's are 500+hp turbos though Tony. They spool quick... For their size. But it wouldn't be good to be making only 350hp with it. Not to mention it doesn't come on a t3 flange, so you'd need a new manifold.

I think Tony was taking the piss lol

I guess Hypergear is the easy bolt on option. Personally Id look at a 3071.

I haven't read much about Precision turbos and how they fair at the 250kw level. No doubt they make a good charger for the goal i just havent seen results for them

Grab a r34 turbo and get it highflowed at CGC, MTQ or hypergear. I had a friend that made a lazy 270rwkw and it still looked stock. Pretty inexpensive too.

Yes. Yes I was. :-D would be fun to see the silver broad minded person actually turn her wheels. :-P

Realistically for that power though, buying a high flowed turbo is probably your best bet. Cost is kept down and life is good.

^^ This, Highflow seems to get the best results these days whilst keeping it low mounted on the stock manifold and internally gated

This is what I'm leaning towards ATM, just need the 34 turbo.

    • It’s definitely an import, the Aussie ones have reflectors in the rear bar, it’s also a turbo which none of the Aussie one were.    I remember back in the day I want a twin turbo z32 so bad and then I saw a 32 gtr and that was the end of that lol
    • Same can be said for Subarus motors ha ha!   I like the 300ZX, I nearly bought a Z32 before I bought my first Skyline. It was going to be a project. Then I found out there was a bit of a dodgy title with it... As in, someone attempted to commit insurance fraud with it and there was now some dodgy legalities around it. So at 18 I walked away from it.
    • The below is what the readings I had with the fuel pressure gauge which were correct. It seems like the issue is mainly during drive and not idle. I bought the new hanger hoping it could be the issue, perhaps I ruined something while cleaning, but I have not installed it yet since I have to wire up everything with the new plugs.
    • Actually, that's not entirely true. It's also the same motor in the 1st gen Nissan Cube but they're rare as hen's teeth.
    • Yeah it is always worth testing and balancing actuators out of the box, just set the pressure regulator on a compressor very low (eg 5 psi) and increase it slowly to see when they both move.....unfortunately while you may be able to adjust the length of the actuator rod to minimise any difference, the actual pressure they move from is not adjustable so you need a well matched pair. And yes, the VCAM is probably contributing; the earlier in the rev range they come on boost and the slower the revs build (I think your demo was in 5th), the more you notice it.  Driving at WOT through 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc you will probably never hear it as any shuffling starts and is over super quickly
