Hi everyone

Can I get some opinions on the cusco electronic dampening adjustment suspension for a R34 GTR Vspec 2?

Is it rubbish, or a high quality suspension? The car will be mainly for street use, the occasianal blast down the strip, and maybe 1-2 times per year on the track for a bit of fun.

I like the idea of being able to adjust the dampening easily, without having to rip out the parcel shelf.

I've run bilestien shocks with white line springs in my r33 GTS-T and they were quite nice for street but I felt I didn't have much control even though I didn't really need it for that car.

Thanks - and sorry, not a suspension expert lol.

no personal experience, but why not the bilstein PSS9 (or see if they have some even higher spec coilovers?) or go for aragosta etc...i mean, from what i've heard cusco coilovers in general are great and all, just not suited to our streets (too stiff).

Just saw a set going relatively cheap, and thought it would be cool to have the dampening adjustment in the car.

Really didn't want to have to take the parcel shelf out all the time.

Apparently Tein make an electronic set that adjust but Tein aren't that great.

And you're right - bilstein I think are excellent.

I am sure that if you look you will find a big range of people making in car adjustable damper controllers e.g. HKS, this Greddy kit:

and as you mention Tein. Not sure why you say Tein is not great. I have Bilstein shocks and Tein springs myself but Tein make a huge range of suspensions which are popular for both street and a big variety of motorsport applications.

Just a few comments in this forum that say that Tein isn't all that great. Not sure why.

This is what I had in mind:

Its wireless, and you can add more so that each corner is controlled independently. I'd love to see how this felt

That would be awesome. Oh by the way i think i saw a 'good' set of Teins on sale on SAU/JDMST (same person) a few months ago, for GTR. Have a look. I think they were about 1500, and he'd shipped them in but never put them in his car and put them up for sale? Worth a lot more.

But hey if you saw a set going cheap then jump on them! And you could always change the springs to a softer rate!

Found them, thanks for that. I've asked him if they are still available.

Definitely don't want a hard spring rate, its mostly for street use
