Ok so I have a r34 GTT and it seems like the climate control temp is incorrect. When set to 18 it comes out cold but when I change it to 18.5 it comes out the same as it does when on 32. I have no idea and any help would be great

It is climate control, it will blow hot air until the interior temp is at the desired setting.

If it doesn't turn down once it gets to the set temp, sounds like the in dash temp sensor is borked.

18 is cold air only.

Even when it's set to manual there is no difference between 19 and 30 degrees

Is there anyway way of changing the sensor or do you have replace the complete unit

I know in 33's its pretty common when you pull the dash panel where the sensor is out, its easy to forget to plug the sensor or the hose that goes to it back in.

When you do this, everything but 18 degrees puts out hot air, Because the A/C Unit has no reference point for the temp inside it defaults to cold when on 18 and warm when on anything but

Worth a try if you have pulled the interior apart recently to just check it is all plugged in

Otherwise if the sensor is wrecked, best bet is to go to wreckers and grab one off a car there. Mine is still fine in my R33, so I'd say a failed sensor is a fairly rare thing to happen so most 34's should have a working one

Yep same experience here. 33 has a few little holes in the dash fascia and a hose that attaches in behind them leading (I guess) to the sensor.

Very easy to not notice the hose is attached when pulling the dash apart. Not sure about 34s but it's likely this is the issue.

Ok I will try this, I only just got the car but it does have a aftermarket head unit in it so the dash must have come off at some stage. Thanks heaps for your help and I'll let ya know how I go
