CLNSKY
Hey guys, didn't know where else to post this. Anyone here familiar with systems that can be installed for homes that have say 4 wireless cameras connected to something that shows them all onto a monitor and can record them all onto a hard drive? Any suggestions on products or where i can buy good quality products? Or if you are an expert and have experience installing them i would like to hear from you as well! (Will be getting something for my house very soon). Cheers! Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/434400-wireless-home-security-cctv/ Share on other sites

CLNSKY
Yep they have swann units, just trying to steer away from the mainstream brands like swann and uniden Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/434400-wireless-home-security-cctv/#findComment-7091435 Share on other sites

epoq
I bought a couple of the basic wireless Swann units. They're very consumer focused (ie. simple to install and operate). They'd be no good for what you're after though. You can view them from your IOS or Android phone easily using the App. The sucky side is that there is no method to record anything to harddrive and they're pretty much trying to sell you a monthly recurring fee to use their 'cloud-based' motion recording system. You get a free trial for 30 days and as much as it works well - I hate lock-in recurring fees. GoldZilla
Colin, have a look here on the Mwave page, they've got a few different systems both with and without recording functions, and 4 or 8 cameras included in their kits. 75coupe
Ive installed cctv wireless systems jnto workshops and homes, id definitely say go wired, more reliable, no wireless issues but is more expensive to install... Basically the more the you pay the better you get. Wired is the way to go, if you look at the high end systems they are all hard wired, in saying that though i have clients with wireless with access from iphone and it works ok... 75coupe
Also look at the lens on the cameras as some have a wider view than others, so if the camera is mounted like 6m away from target youll need a view to be able to make it cover the most area Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/434400-wireless-home-security-cctv/#findComment-7104571 Share on other sites
Dose Pipe Sutututu
try using D-Link products, simple as bat shit to set up and buy like a Synology NAS to do all the recording... alternatively you could build a PC specifically for recording all the wireless D-Link cameras, just pop in RAID1 with 2x 3TB NAS HDDs and a high effciency PSU and off you go. I'm currently using a D-Link wireless 932L camera, works a treat.. automatic day/night with sound. I can remote into it from my phone and see/listen to what's going on and my Synology DS-212 NAS records everything Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/434400-wireless-home-security-cctv/#findComment-7105814 Share on other sites
