Oh the lols

only do the Getrag if you do the 3.545 diffs as well, 1st gear in my 34 is now and always was useless even when it was a 2.6 with -7s, so add 4.11s to that and you may as well stay with the 5 speed as you won't use first with the Getrag

I can't wait to see the difference between 4.11s and 3.545s with the two identical OS88s once put side by side :D

I plan on being there for that event! :D

actually the Getrag is heavier then the 5 speeder so the advantage is on my side there by a couple of kgs

I'm hoping the longer first will get me off the line better and with the shift cut setup my ET should improve but doubtful my MPH will increase much, car is just to heavy :(

Needs more powahs

Ok well I've decided on the box I want and it's a ppg helical dog as like you piggaz highway driving with a 5th straight cut would do my head in. But would I have the same problem as with the os box regarding the taller gears that the ppg comes with? Sorry my set up is a an unopened rb26 which I'm about to put hks gtss turbos in..

If you are only going to run GT-SSs and no more, source a Getrag and 3.545 diff gears, much nicer to drive and plenty strong enough for the power a 2.6 with GT-SSs can put out

I will stroke the engine eventually and put bigger turbo's so will the getrag still be they way to go will be looking at 400+ at the wheels. but for know I will be driving it with the gtss and definitely need to do something about the gearbox as I have a few gears crunching

You know you can rebuild the box with new syncros for 1100-1200 bucks inc labour

Yeh but if I pull it out I would like to make it stronger. . The car does get used a lot for motorsport especially hillclimbs some 1/4 runs and the occasional track day ..

I'd just drill it out and tap ina 1/4" thread. No need for rocket surgery when the next most obvious thing will do. You could throw a 1/4 x 1/8 bush in there and use the same fitting you intended to use.
    • Is the only issue that the oil catch can is getting filled on hard runs? I'd be thinking more about oil control issues rather then the head lifting, especially as you aren't seeing spiking in the coolant pressure.  Do you need restrictors in the head, or better drains from the head? Does the sump need venting to the catch can?
    • Tried to make 1/8npt threads into compressor house of the turbo for my EBC. Threads got fu#ked and ended up with and elongated hole, so I do have good amount and nice threads 90% of the hole but 10% I only had 1-2threads there and rest of it is flush on that side of the hole.. So my idea is to do M12 x 1.25 to AN4 with braided lines instead of 1/8npt to 4mm vacuum silicone hose.  and hopefully get a better thread. M12 is quite big and AN4 is a little bit bigger than 4mm (4.9mm inner diameter braided PTFE hose). but this should work. Thoughts? Otherwise I will weld and adapter onto the turbo.
