Hey Ben, Congrats man thats very nice power !! RB20s still rock ! 12 years on

One suggestion though, turn boost up a little higher say 1.3 - 1.4 bar.

On mine from 1.2 to 1.4bar really starts pulling hard @ 1.4.

cant wait to put the Rb26 cams and pulleys. Gotta do the clutch first tho..

yeah i plan to get it on the dyno again next week before WSID on wed night, I might just do one power run on high boost, but i get a little scared, this is my everyday driver so i need it to run reliably :(

But like i have said before, i need to have a dyno print-out with over 300rwhp and my name on it. just so i can say i have over 300hp

what does everyone else think about running around 1.4 bar? on a stock RB20 with std headgasket? i was considering running the 1.2bar when i race, but for everyday i only run between 0.8 and 1.1bar.

MRK25T you need to let it open up, these turbos are designed to run highish boost to reach their efficiency peak @ 1.3 - 1.4 bar...

theres a shitload of power to be had from 1.0 - 1.4 bar...

The next owner can boost it more, I couldnt afford a new engine if it blew so got it tuned acordingly. The tuner at Procar did a great job with the car, it is very smooth. Notice how straight he got the AFR.

They are a great turbo, much better than my high flowed standard turbo.

yeah the A/F ratio is awesome on yours! i need to get mine like that.

was it Paul who tuned your car? he was very helpful and knows his stuff, he showed me some stuff on a 900hp NA V8 he recently built! imagine having an NA 900hp engine!

I really need to invest in a PFC! anyone got one cheap for me? hehe

yours will pull some awesome numbers once the boost is in mark.

No, a specialist tuner came in to do my tuning at Procar.

WHo was the tuner mark? Dont be shy.

Paul from Procar will tell you. He doesnt do any joe shmoe off the street. He tunes the car only if you are sitting in the car with him the whole time and explains everything. I dont know cars, but I did a fair few units of physics in my science degree and it all made sense to me.

The car is no longer mine, sold it this afternoon.

    • Resizing injectors in Nistune can be done a couple of ways, and there are a couple of ways that you can make a mess of it. The tuner needs to be really aware of the effects of whichever approach he uses (either K, or TIM). They are both easy enough to "get the injector size right" to run the engine. But little details like old start enrichment and hot start are affected differently, depending on which boxes you check.
    • Pretty safe to say almost everyone that has tuned their own car has experienced this issue. The difference being that we have our laptop in the car and when it happens, it's literally 10 seconds of tuning to sort it.  Would you be happy to plug in your laptop and sort this yourself? It is a very simple process and there is no risk of harming your engine (if you are worried about that).
    • Yeah thats the next step now, either they wil or i will take out for a drive to work and go straight their after work and see is we get the same issues 🤞  thought i try my luck here too, never know someone else might have had the same issue but thanks for the reply
    • Basically your tuner needs to drive it for the 30 min (or whatever) to create the same conditions then check the ECU settings and sensors at that time. They may not be excited to because that takes them 30 min rather than just opening the bonnet and seeing the problem straight away.... Hot start is generally not as tricky as cold start, but there would be a table for fuel enrichment vs coolant temp as a starting point
    • Yeah, they all cant say anything for sure as everything is working fine . Said unable to find an issue untill it stops again. Could mist likely be CAS wiring or IAS valve issue but again not 100%
