i got my 370gt coupe through a dealer. after a month,i found my fuel gauge is not measuring the fuel amount

properly, like fuel gauge display always up and down ,even the car have full fuel,it would still give me a

warning of low fuel, then i brought back to show dealer, he said he would fix it for me ,after a few weeks

process, still cant fix it, end up the whole computer system is break down***the one manage all sort of

electrical centre unit: gps ,audio not working ,disc cant play ,air-con on and off by itself and system restart

when i am driving every 5 mins***

the dealer is going to response,it is already being 3months, they still cant find the part to replace it, even

infiniti/nissan cant help at all.

anyone know where to get this part in or know any write off 370gt that i can just buy the part from there?

PLEASE HELP ME OUT GUYS

really appreciate

Have they changed the battery and checked the connections? Sounds like a voltage issue to me, unless they have introduced a fault trying to fix the sender.

The senders in the fuel tank may be dirty, you can clean these with contact cleaner, sometimes comes good. There is a float sender in both sides of the tank to measure fuel level which then goes to the BCM I think.

i don't think there is a issue with battery , as one of the 370gt importer pulg a computer from other 370gt to my car , it does work again, so pretty sure is a computer issue.?

thanks for advise.

do you know where i can get a cleaner to clean it?

Metho, ethanol or contact cleaner will work, you should have no trouble finding contact cleaner an any auto parts store. Make sure you get replacement tank Orings from Nissan.

What computer did he replace, the engine ecu or the body control module?

ok i see, thanks

getting the computer which managing the center unit ,audio,air-con etc.....

I don't know if this will be helpful at all or not but when I was mucking around with my system I found that if you remove the 4-wire ribbon which runs into the actual touch screen overlay you will lose all of the system controls. I have no idea why the touch screen controller is directly connected to the rest of the systems but I found that the AC/Radio/steering wheel controls etc would all stop working with this 4-wire ribbon disconnected.

I would be pulling the entire facia apart and checking all of the connections because it seems that the systems are all interconnected. It may just be that they mucked around behind the stereo and something is now loose. It's pretty easy to pull apart and put back together.

  • 2 weeks later...

My understanding of it was the thing would randomly reboot.

Screen output sits on the UART lines via a controller. Never delved too deeply into it though.

    • Block bump. $400. As above cyl 6 needs bore or sleeve.
    • I would think making the argument that the travel is limited by a spring flexing against a spring perch as "the same method". Later on in the document they do state that the spring can't bind on full bump travel and cannot come loose in full rebound travel as well. (which is all very sensible). The laws are actually pretty sensible and reasonable. It's just that the people who enforce and check them don't actually read them or know them accurately. "Oh, coilovers? Instant fail mate. Don't even need to look at it." - Guy who will be instantly reported by me. There is probably merit to people who do get defected for height also get defected for the suspension in that state that allows it. I did never consider the people who are complaining about coilovers being picked on are also running around at 50mm off the floor.
    • I think given SAU's knowledge of E85 we can strongly conclude that 10% ethanol in almost any situation is entirely fine. Almost all of the myths against E85 were overblown, let alone E10.
    • From your link See bold text, is this referring to damper settings, if so that may a issue for "some" inspectors, I cannot see aftermarket coilovers having the evidence that "must be available that its functional performance is equivalent to the original" Maybe just remove the adjustment knows and hope for the best???? Meh 5.2 Suspension travel In all instances, modifications to a vehicle’s suspension must ensure the integrity of the system and not compromise the ride quality. At least two thirds of the original suspension travel should be maintained in both directions (rebound (i.e. extension) and bump (i.e. compression)), and rebound must be limited by the same method used by the vehicle manufacturer or if this is not practicable due to the nature of the modification, an equivalent method. If an alternative method is used, evidence must be available that its functional performance is equivalent to the original.
    • They actually don't - They adhere to VSB14 rules just like Victoria. The rules are against CABIN adjustable height, and it quite clearly states that the height has to be within parameters. I asked the VASS engineer to confirm this when I got my car engineered and they refused to engineer the coilovers because they didn't meet the requirements for requiring engineering. (mine are height adjustable.) People "Not wanting to bother" with "Actually reading/knowing/adhering to the rules" should result in fines and immediately losing the ability to issue blue slips and/or RWC's in Vic.
