If it gets here in 2007, that means they should drop to around 20-30k by around 2020-25:P

I'm guessing the nearest competitor will be the next gen Acura NSX if it heads downunder, not a bad piece of metal that, hope the GTR looks the goods (this is the hsc concept, but pretty similar methinks).

ooo, check out them doors:

Anyway, sorry, back to the GTR

I reckon $150k - $170k for it. Considering what the car will be, and what else you can get (brand new from factory, none of this 1890's, datsun with RB26 crap pls) it will be VERY competitive. I'm going for "Porsche 911 Turbo (996) beater or equal, for little over half the price"

Now it they can only make it look half as aggressive as the NSX protoype, we'd be set! :)

mesh, u gonna place an order mate?

cheers

V35 or G35 Coupe's look a lot better in the flesh than pictures. Especially with the subtle kit that seems to be an option. Saw quite a few in Nth America recently, pity about the rear lights but unlike the 4 doors, the Coupes do keep the afterburners in some form, but onll when the rear lights, light up. Can't see it otherwise :D

But personally i want to see it as a Nissan GTR, not a stupid infiniti. I know it's just a name, and it's still a Nissan, but it just loses some of the 'gloss' for me if it's not a 'Nissan', and already lost a bit for not being a 'Skyline GTR' :)

OK, I guess we better make an Infinity Section in this forum for the new engine... omg... this means we're one step closer to having something in common with the Zed boys... eek

Hehe, it's just like saying "Acura" NSX isn't it...

I am soooooo over American influenced shit right about now.

I actually like the sound of Acura and Infinity compared to Honda & Nissan (australia) .. honda and nissan .au are plain and simply a bunch of pussies who dont have the balls to bring in decent vehicles, like the skyline, real integra type r's and so forth.

I'm amazed nissan brought out the 200sx in turbo form judging by their track record.

If going under the Acura or Infiniti umbrella means we get decent performance vehicles into our country so be it.

I sounsd to me by sticking the the "infinity" badge on it, means they'll be going more for the luxury sports market.

While all of old GTR were nice if you ask me inside, not quite like the euro-supercars inside with all cow and the rest.

Guess that is the segment that Nissan is trying to aim the next GTR at... I think they won the "affordable sports car" segment battle a while ago, guess they're now trying to aim higher??

The only problem is that Infinity and Acura are watered down version of the jap spec cars that we get. I know my old Honda integra put out something like an extra 20hp over the Acura. I also don't understand why anyone would even want the V35. If you ask me they aren't a skyline anymore. They have gone away from the straight 6's that we have all known for over 10 years and they all look like euro cars now.

Guys, take it easy...

At the bottom of the Auto Report website (where this "Infinity GT-R" stuff originated) it says this:

*No implication is intended regarding the legal status of any mark. Even if a mark is approved it may lapse if not used. Companies file for registration of a mark they might wish to use in a particular jurisdiction, or simply to prevent another company from using it. Where accents, case and less common characters have been elided or altered in certain jurisdictions (for clarity and ease of reference), these have been restored as accompanying images and other filings indicate. This list is not intended to be comprehensive, but simply indicative, and is restricted to major english-language databases.

In other words... no, it's not official. Take it with a grain of salt.

    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
    • There's not a great deal to report here .... except ...... FOR .... LSD!!!  I bought a Quaife LSD from the UK and shipped it here .... Wish I'd just bought locally cause the shipping and duty was $700! But there were so many diffs used in the E90s I just wanted to be absolutely certain I was getting the right one so I spoke with a supplier in the UK who builds race cars and they have heaps of experience with the E90s.  I pulled the diff out which was seriously awesome - I've never done anything like that before, I must have watched 1000 videos on YT about it as well as consulting the Bentley manual. It was super easy in the end. The diff was delivered to the awesome folks at Hornsby Diffs and will be back in a few weeks. I also replaced the diff bushings with some Nolathane ones.  Really looking forward to getting it back and getting back to the track or even the skidpan.
    • yeah... the 13kg/mm springs weren't always in there, I had 10kg/mm but doing a few SMSP commanded heavier front springs. It's so good now going into T1 and T2, just need more seat time and real tyres.
    • Yes, well. Mine are less than half that. ARBs are not set to "dumb" either.
    • I would hope. But, we all know even the best companies have an issue sporadically.
