im with rb20lagwagon, i have just been watching in the background....

perth is the only place where wolf is used so much....and its mainly because of SST and ants power beast :D

i realise wolf is still a huge upgrade and its good for the price but is there better options? why are people all over the eastern states not heading down this track?

LagWagon, You can individually trim the injectors to run richer on 5 and 6.

Fane, You obviously don't listen very hard, Wolf was huge well before Ant. But I agree is is good that both ND4SPD and GTAAH both use wolf and make over 650rwhp each:D

IMACUL8, MOTEC is good, but $8k for a decent setup, even John Munro doesn't think it was worth it;)

I'd have to say from what i have seen. Get a R32 Rb20 and then rom the sucker !!!

Cost you about the same

Wolf installed and tuned = $2k

RB20 R32 = $2000

ROM = $500

Sell old Engine = - $1000

Install bits = $500

total = $2000

You will end up with a MUCH better motor, more power, better economy etc etc etc .......

What are you really gaining by running the wolf exactly ???

If you insist on staying with the NICS, get an AFC ... cheap and done !!

8K my ass Paul ......

Paul - I strongly disagree that Wolf was huge before recent times - hell from people I talked to the early Wolfs per a piece of shit - its only since the V4 has come out that they have gained any respectablity.

Dan

IMACUL8, Price it up:D Once you have all the options you require to run at a level that ND4SPD is, it is about $8k. Wolf V4 had been out for quite a while before Ant put on in ND4SPD, and alot of Skyline owners were already choosing to use it.

Bah to aftermarket ecu's

There are so many people around the world running fast on factory ecu's and having daily drivers its not funny.

So why then do people even consider a wolf ......

Is it because factory ecu has no hand controller ?? is it about the rice ??

Yes in this guys case rom not availbe for NICS but like i said get a r32 rb20 better all round and can rom :P.

Arguing about which Engine Management is better (Autronic *cough* :P ) is a little off topic... But results speak for themselves...

http://www.autronic.com/page_files/hall_of_fame.htm

I'm certainly impressed with the 1.8L Honda making 775HP @ flywheel...

Personally i would research what you need and what you can afford and what you want to do with your car and go from there... Personally i went with Autronic because it had all the features i wanted... And also if and when i get time i can finish developing the digial dash i started...

Propoganda aside time

Back on subject

No matter how good your efi is ....... your hardware is a turd

for the same dollars get a 32 eccs rb20 then safc or rom tune it

the nics has too many draw backs and theres no point sending good money after bad

On Topic: MrMayhem:werd:

Off Topic: Paul, i listen quite fine thats why im asking questions....

The biggest promoter for anything in terms of mods whether it be a turbo, a set of injectors or an ecu is that fact that someone else has already got it setup.

With a test car like ND4SPD putting out huge ponies and times down the 1/4 always in the spotlight....its easy to promote the wolf because everyone goes well Ant runs it in his car....

"If ant can do it with a wolf why cant I?"

The question that i want answered is all the people that chose ecu's before ant and all the people that dont know of ND4SPD(eastern staters) why didnt they choose Wolf? and why do perth's other top cars not have wolf's? whether it be the speedworks gtr with an hks f-con or gt51r with the autronics...

Had autronics, now ask yourself why it doesn't and now runs a Wolf.

Some of the eastern state guys are starting to run them, but there are plenty of good ECU's about, just have to have the right tuner.

hhahah Paul - and now its got a Wolf, ask hoim why he swapped it. And i hear the new r32 will have a motec ..... hmmmm so ask yourself. ;->

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
