You can join the club at any time. You don't have to be a skyline owner.

I assume that you mean that as you already have a cams licence is membership cheeper... and the answer to that is no. As far as I'm aware cams licences will be a seperate cost. (Some body correct me if I'm wrong)

I have the pdf membership file if you want it send an email to [email protected] and I'll forward it to you.

Cheers,

Dan.

A CAMS license will be included with your membership. It isn't a seperate cost Dan. But, we have to join with CAMS first which we haven't done as yet. I believe all the technicalities have been worked out and it shouldn't be much longer.

Sorry George it is a separate cost. :)

The License is about $90.00, there is a link to the CAMS site posted in another thread somewhere.

a5h, if you intend to do any club events requiring the license in the next couple of months then it may be worth renewing. However, please feel free to join the Club and get one through us when we sort out the CAMS affiliation. :D

apology accepted.

So it appears the in answer to a5h's original question there is to be no discount on membership if he already has a cams licence. The membership cost is $50 first year and $35 after that. Cams will be around $90. Hopefully that helps a5h.

Yippee! No more Honda Club for me! I can even remove my type-r stickers if I get an SAU instead!

That's not very nice, Duncan! :P

At least you could express some sorrow.

Only kidding. It's good to see you guys are getting your act into gear. I actually stumbled across this message while trying to work out where to send an invite to the next Honda Car Club drive day. Is there a SAU club captain?

Ooops, busted by the boss :uhh:

PranK is the presidante of the club, but it would be best just to post directly in the NSW / Events section, there's always plenty of interest in the GOHCC etc etc. days

BTW, did you have any luck with getting your engine fixed?

Ok ... I'll get it posted there. Brief summary: Saturday 17 May. Wakefield. Half day track day + half day timed mini sprint. What do you think of the format?

As for my engine, I'd spun a big-end bearing (#3) and associated damage. It's all fixed now, and I'm babying it a bit for a while (it's only just been run-in now).

But it's so hard to avoid entering events in it. I really need to pull my finger out and get a race car to thrash around.

BTW, are you racing this year?

Format sounds good, its always hard to get properly timed laps on a practice day. As long as there is still instructors for beginners

Sure am racing, starting sat: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...&threadid=10404

Good to hear you're back on the road (track!)

Thanks for the info typerlc. Please post it in Events and PM Majanal or me. :(

I guess those interested would need a Wakefield License? Does a CAMS License cover it?

Wakefield or CAMS Level 2S or better will be accepted. I'll post more info in Events in the next day or two. We've always had a good turnout from the Skyline guys ... look forward to seeing some of you there.

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
