just got given some info from the gold coast bulletin about the future of the V8s' at indy..

they need to upgrade the pit area to allow enough room for the number of cars in the championship now! if this upgrade is not done then the V8s will have to be removed from the bill...

they are asking poeple to answer this question:

"Do you support a new pit area on Macintosh island to keep the V8 Supercars at indy?"

All you have to do is SMS yes or no, or provide a comment under 25 words, and SMS it to: 0416905147

you can email your opinion to [email protected]

the problem they are facing is its a park and they need to remove trees (2%) 30 trees in total, it will mean more parking for the area and the V8s' will run at indy in the future.

if you like to go to indy and see the V8s' then let them know!!

Thanks, Matt....

i think they should scrap the V8's and get the amature race/cruise community of the gold coast to replace them..............

the pit stop can be any macca's carpark and bonus points are awarded to neon's and all maner of rice. bonus points for chrome should be awarded on a 'per meter squared' basis. also, however many people you have in your car acts as a points multiplyer. ie, 2 people in the car means 2X points, 4 people means 4X points..............

hell i'll buy a ticket to watch that................at least they'll still drive like nutter in the rain

lol you might be onto something there paladin.

But on a serious note there are more then enough hi-powered import/v8/exotics around here to put on a few good races and would compliment the indy cars nicely.

Inexperianced drivers with no race licenses in performance cars racing eachother would make for good spectator/tv viewing but I’m not sure whoever runs the show would like it

maybe some time trials?

PS v8's should be there but only if they race after the indycars so they get rained on for a change :ghost:

Well I would have to say I enjoy the V8 supercars more than the Indys... Having been to both Indy and Bathurst numerous times, I can say the V8's provide a much more physical and interesting race... They are nowhere near as fast as the Indy's but definately more involving...

IMO

I'm with strutto, i'm a dedicated V8 supercar fan and watch every race and always attend the QLD 500 (or 300 now). I go to indy for the V8's, the champ cars are pretty cool but if there was no V8's i wouldn't go.

SMS sent!

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
