350Z Tranny To Rb30 Block?

Hey guys, I've been planning a rb25/30 build for a little while now, and I am at the parts chasing stage. I have been chucking out the feeler guages on what mods are suitable for this build, one thing I was hoping to find information on was an appropriate 6 speed and was wondering if the 350z's would be adequate and what would need to be modified for it to fit. Any advice at all would be great!(btw, the car I want to do the swap into is a R34 gt-t.)

Doable. It requires an adapter plate - there's not really any other way to do it short of a full bellhousing cut'n'shut. Has been done many times before in reverse - ie VQ engine into Skyline with RB gearbag.

TBH, if you're going to go to the effort of modding the connection between the gearbag and the engine for this swap, you'd actually be sooooo much better off throwing the 30DET idea away and just transplanting a VQ30DET and the 350Z box as one. The advantages are huge. For one, there is a lot less mass involved. For two, the VQ30 has a lot more potential than the RB, is more compact, more modern, yada yada yada. For three.....no headf**ks with gearbox adapter plates and clutch shenanigans and all that horror.

Well I already have two rb30 blocks (freebies) and as far as I know my loom will fit the 30 bottom end so for time and moneys sake the 30 bottom end is the way to go for me plus easy to replace and huge aftermarket aspect.
