Go look at this one, maybe he's willing to negotiate? Take it to a workshop and get it inspected, might help on negotiations.

^^ yeah, not that negotiable buddy.

your gonna get rubbish for that money pure and simple. i know the research and time i put into finding a car as clean as mine and the truth of it is you need to spend a little bit more to get something worth buying.

I don't agree with the others here. I'm in the market for a similar thing and would say that would be about the $ for a non v or m spec car. Just a plain GTR would be around that money. Neither the one in Qld nor the one in Vic that sold in the last week or so sold quickly at that price. They weren't snapped up super fast because they were priced low. Be patient and you should be right. I'd think this market is going to get more difficult to sell cars in the next year or so with the way money seems to be tightening up.

The NME34 car is and should be well out of that price range.

Well, in saying that, my first 34 V spec i had, i sold it for 42k as i had looked at another car and was buying that one so i was in a rush to sell, and it was well above average condition, everything was working, the usual small stone chips and few dings, new headunit, and it sold in 2 days of putting it up, so it is possible to snap up a good deal, just gotta be patient, and as Mick says, a few people are starting to sell cuz they simple cannot afford to keep it anymore due to personal reasons etc, just wait it out, save abit more so if the one your happy with does come along you can negotiate with abit more cash :)

Good luck mate

Btw, sorry if it sounded like i asked him to lowball you, it wasn't what i meant xD

Correct. Subject to condition and pricing, the first 72 hours tend to be critical to that 'enquiry avalanche'

PS By the way, this post should be in the "Wanted to Buy" subforum at the bottom of scrolling.

OP

You can always use an importer an import one from Japan......

But for 35-40K, i'd only expect a high 3C grade car with high KM, and/or some blemishes. If lucky you might get away with a 4C grading.

It can be done, but i'd save an extra 10K and buy something nicer.

Have a look at all the threads on dodgy dealerships etc. Half of them buy C/R grade cars for less than 30K landed and sell them at 50K +

Go to the wreckers for that price. lolol One sold in QLD for 35k about 3 weeks ago from carsales. Not sure on your luck for another. GL

ha ha ha ha ha yeah no way in hell will you get a good clean r34 vspec for that

Hi toy515. I am an ex r34gtr owner myself. It is possible to get a clean R34 GTR V spec for 40k. First, you need to have the money ready so the seller knows you are going to buy the car. You gotta remember, most r34 gtr v specs are asking over 50k and i know a lot of you here will disagree with me. But the truth is, they just don't sell for that much. Who has 50k cash laying around for a 15 year old car? Anyway I bought my r34 gtr v spec in bayside blue back in 2010, for 40k with 78,000kms. The owner was asking 45k. It was a grade 4.5. I had an accident in it, got it repaired and sold it. I asked for 52k, and ended up selling for 42k. There have been quite a few clean 34 V spec which were asking 50k and ended up dropping down to 40-42k. So just be patient and have the money ready or finance approved according to your budget. You will get one you like.

Heres another tip. For 40k, why not go for Rx7 Spirit R Type A. After I sold my R34 GTR, I test drove one and amazing car. I didn't buy it because I chose to buy a immac Evo8MR which I highly regret that I didn't go for that Spirit R. Take my words.

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
