funkymonkey
I'm putting my company advertising as a half car vinyl in the near future. Thanks to that decal I can claim depreciation on the car as a tax cut and other fun-dangly things because its an advertising medium. So... my rice saves me money. Does "real" or "fake" sponsorship do that to yours? At the end of the day, its to make your car look like a tuning house car, which does infact have the sponsoship etc. If its sitting on your car and not doing anything on it, then its a stupid investment. Whether its rice or not, that's a matter of taste. pstanbis
If We are all (pretty much) agreed that fake performance stickers = definiton of rice, then is there anything that you guys think should be supplementry to that definition? People are constantly calling those of us who happen to like shiny things (See avaitar, but im not the only one) "Ricers", but by 'definition' are not. If lowering a car that does not get used on a track is NOT rice, then how is it that any other mods that look good, but do not imply any performance gain, also get called rice? phil --> Just Waitin' for the Flamin'..... EDIT : That is remarkably hard to read... sorry about that. sammus
well at the moment the definition is an opinion... unless they put it in the dictionary, it's a word we all take differently. in my opinion it's stuff to make it look fast, as opposed to look good. with this def your neons are not "rice" they are just good looking things, although saying this will not stop anyone from calling them ricey. lowering your car isn't rice as it decreases body roll... on the track and on the road, and does actually improve the car around corners... looking sweet is healthy addition . the word is ****ing annoying as so much conversation goes on about what it is etc. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?...p?term=rice&r=f Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/44509-fake-performance-stickers-you-decide/page/3/#findComment-910283 Share on other sites

dstylez
If its your car do what you want to it!!! It's yours after all and you’re the person that has to drive it and spend money on it. very true... each to their own. however, i will reserve the right to laugh at people who have 'performance stickers' on their riced up lancers, civics, corollas etc. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/44509-fake-performance-stickers-you-decide/page/3/#findComment-910340 Share on other sites
Silver-Arrowz
Stickers add to the performance of the car? How? Stickers are usually very slippery, thus when the air passes the sticker it has less resistance than the surface of the panel. So in short, stickers reduce the aerodynamic co-efficent of the car. Example. Look at F1 cars. The cars with most sponsorship stickers are the faster cars. Best example the Ferrari's (also red is faster but that's another essay). Cars like the Jordan and Minardi are slow because they lack stickers. :uh-huh: :bahaha: Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/44509-fake-performance-stickers-you-decide/page/3/#findComment-910348 Share on other sites

Silver-Arrowz
Well just keep that little secret under wraps. Ricers have to justify their existance somehow. Evo_Lee
There is something wrong with the poll...why is there a NO option? If you haven't noticed commonly these days J-guys have relocated the stickers onto the airbox under the bonnet...box looks plain so why not and keeps the car stickerfree. BTW: stickers on your car is what we J-locals in Japan call stickertune. Last weekend I came across some stickers which I bought and may stick on the rear window...with a grin reaper logo...it reads "DEATH IS NATURES WAY OF TELLING YOU TO SLOW DOWN!" THere was also another that read "S H I T_the future" Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/44509-fake-performance-stickers-you-decide/page/3/#findComment-911652 Share on other sites
