audiophile26
i am starting to notice a knocking and a clunking under acceleration coming from the front of the car. is this commonly diagnosed as a diff problem or a CV axle problem? if it is a diff problem can anyone direct me to the right part for the front diff. as i am unsure as to the differences between the front diff and the rear diff. any help is appreciated. thanks! djr81
If it is clunking it is usually cv's which clunk when you are turning and accelerating. A stuffed diff is usually a vibration. Second hand FRONT diffs are a dime a dozen. Find a workshop who puts RB26's in GTST's and they will be tripping over them. audiophile26
tracking the noise is more pronounced when warm. the car has been upgraded to r33 front brakes. could that be the problem? i may need to make a hybrid driveshaft? as the steering knuckles sit further out than on a stock r32? KiwiRS4T
The difference between the front and rear diffs is mainly size (front being smaller). Both rarely give trouble and you should get your CVs checked first.
