4dr wannaslide
Ok so I have an r32 4 door and my in car blower fan is stuck on 3 speed when the key is turned on once the fan is blowing and turn the key once more and the air con can be switched on, it stay on the 3rd speed but can go up once more to 4th speed. I have check the relays I thought It might be stuck on but the only relay that turn it off is the one in the car is the first one on the top left side of the fuse box swaped a few around made no difference. The ones in the engine bay make no differance. Anyone got an ideas I have also completely disconnect that air control unit and fan is still blowing. The picture attached the relay missing is the only one that will turn the fan off. GTSBoy
Climate control? Doesn't look good for the control unit. Take it out, open it up, look for bulging electro capacitors, burnt resistors and other such components or parts of the circuit board. 89CAL
It sounds to me like the fan speed control is no good and someone has dodgied it up Usually the fan speed is done through a resistor pack or such, 3 different value resistors, for speeds 1,2,3 and then direct voltage for 4. Seen as the 32's have climate control, I would tend to agree wtih above, that the fan speed is done through the actual climate control unit. If possible, borrow another one and test it out. I've had to replace the little resistor pack in a backhoe and a volvo truck before, Depends on how it is designed, but it usually does the same thing - no fan until its put on the maximum fan setting. Not a great deal of help but just some things I've experienced.
