theDETlife
Hello people, IM in the process of doing a 5 stud conversion from gts brakes to gtst's and I'm trying to figure out how i get the brake cable out of the drum brake mechanism? I can see where the spring attaches to the end of the cable in side the brake set up but I'm not sure how to get to it.Can any one send a few pic's of how they did it or give me a explanation on how to do it? Also is the installing of the cable into the drum brake just the opposite of taking them out?Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!Few pics of where I'm at atm. boostn0199
You need to remove the brake shield assembly from the knuckle first which will also remove the hub, then is a single bolt on the rear of the brake shield which holds the cable in, undo that and you can pull it out. Also you need to take off the shoes so you can disconnect the cable from the mechanism. HR32GTS 4DOOR
Why are you trying to get the cable out? The gts run brake will fit the gist disk, just take the hub off bolt the new one on and slide the disk on. It all fits.
