Hi, was looking for some advice/opinions. Ive researched and had a read up on oil coolers and LSD for my car.

Car is R33 GTS-t S2 soon to be around 300rwkw. Driven maybe twice a month and a few track days per year.

Oil cooler - I see a few guys had done their own and cost $3-400. (quite like the article http://www.trak-life.com/diy-r33-skyline-oil-cooler-with-thermostat/)

I was looking at the Trust / Greddy 13 row oil cooler kit at $586 from RHD.

http://www.rhdjapan.com/trust-greddy-standard-oil-cooler-kit-ecr33-rb25det.html

or possibly the 19 row Mishimoto universal oil cooler

http://www.prospeedracing.com.au/products/Mishimoto-19-Row-Universal-Oil-Cooler-kit-Black.html.

Any problems in hooking up a oil temp and oil pressure gauge up to the sandwich plate ? Both have a thermostat ?

Onto LSD now, I was thinking of going a Nismo GT LSD 1.5 way (over a 2 way)

http://www.rhdjapan.com/nismo-gt-lsd-nissan-s13-silvia-180sx-r32-r33-z32-a31-c33.html

RHD also stock Kaaz, Tomei, Cusco, OS Giken and ATS carbon

http://www.rhdjapan.com/search/index/index/engine/nissan_skyline_gts25-ecr33-kouki-1-96-5-98-eng-rb25det/model/nissan_skyline/car/nissan/category/engine-and-drivetrain_differentials-and-output-shafts/?dir=asc&order=price_l&p=2

Any advice on this purchase and anything else I should consider ? Buy at RHD or somewhere else ? Any future probs I might have or important things to know with the install and oil temp and oil pressure gauge install ?

thanks

I've actually been looking at both these items for purchase soon.,,

I'm leaning towards getting the Greddy Type E Sandwich plate (Thermostat and 2 Sensor Ports, RHDJapan seems to be good for this), a cheap 19 row core such as mishimoto/coolingpro and aeroflow/speedflow lines and fittings.. It seems that price of all 'kits' are heavily inflated and it's cheaper buying separately.

As for the LSD it seems the Nismo GT LSD 1.5 way is popular and probably for a reason, still need to look into it and will be following this thread :)

Nismo claims that the 2 way "carbon" LSD is actually better than the 1.5 for circuit and street use.

"This LSD's operation was perfected to deliver the maximum grip needed for circuit racing. It will give you superior traction whatever the tire or road conditions."

and

"The great stability of the GT L.S.D. Pro Carbon <2-WAY> also makes it ideal for normal street use, where road conditions can be poor and where too powerful an LSD can actually reduce efficiency. Compared to the GT L.S.D. and the GT L.S.D. Pro, this is the best choice for street use."

I got my oil cooler yesterday. Bought from a SAU trader. Will change the sandwhich plate to a thermo item.

As for LSD, am still researching, but most likely a Nismo 1.5 from Jesse is what Im heading towards...

Nismo GT is great, allows you to adjust the torque by popping out the RHS Axel stub.

I used the non GT version before and it was great and npw on a KAAZ 2 way which I find pretty aggressive compared to the Nismo.

Then again the nismo was worn (used diff)

    • Yeah I also looked at Plazmaman, but, it ended up alot  cheaper getting black ones through EFI when you also added in the delivery cost
    • Nice shot! They look super clean. The roof rack delete on the black one is interesting. Would like to see more pictures from different angles. It's subtle but could make quite a difference to how the car looks in profile.
