Highing flowing Injectors Good or Bad??

Recommended Posts

well I have heard of hiflowed injectors being checked and they had a huge difference in flow for each injectors if you can't afford the proper injectors you can't afford the up grade. raising the rail pressure will get you a higher tolerance of power I would do that b4 hi flowiing injectors or even use r x7 injectors as tony said.

there is no cheap way to get performance

btw note you said the approx flow rate is 590 cc you buy a nissan sard apexi or denso injecotr and they tell you exactly what they flow not approximates.

how big is your turbo stock injecotrs can support p 400 hp @ the fly wheel when the pressure is raised

They are 590cc each. was told they would be within 1cc of each other. I should not have used the word "approx"

The same guy told me to be aware of Sard injectors from his experience he has had too many failing to reach there specified CC rating.

The only RX7 injectors that are side feed for the rb25 are 13b S6 or cosmo or 20B primaries.

Try finding them under about $200 each!!! second hand $1200 set of 6. I have.

To use top feed rx7 injectors requires a new fuel rate etc. more cost.

I am actually seriously considering going down this path, I can apparently get it done for around $200 for all 6 injectors through a connection I have.

When I get around to having it done, after I will get them flow tested and post up the results. That way we can have some solid data on the benefits, if any.

Well, according to SK in a previous thread, proper hi-flowing costs about $200 per injector -- a little less if labour is free -- and on that basis its cheaper to buy new ones.

Haven't been able to find the thread warning against hi-flows yet (as per Megalla's post).

I seriously doubt that :(

Wow... A member of the automotive industry putting a bad word on a competitor's service/product?!?! Well I'll be!!!!!!!!!

Bottom line is, high flows are made by attacking the injectors with a drill. Ask him for a 100% MONEY BACK guarantee of a 1cc difference across the range of injectors, to be tested by an independant source, and see what he says :)

Even new injectors have upto a 5-6cc difference across the range. You can tune this out via a programmable ECU like the PowerFC, or fit the higher flowing ones in the leaner cylinders.

If your budget can accomodate new injectors, go for it...

If not, I suggest second hand injectors of your required size and have them ultrasonically cleaned and flow tested...

If you're building an "N1" spec car like Dundan, then I guess you have no choice but to take a gamble and get your injectors drilled out, but that would be the last option on my list :spcow:

so that comment would mean that all nippon denso injectors are unreliable as the brand name SARD merly applies to the box they came in .Nearly all aftermarket japanese injectors are made by nippon denso to be resold by these companies eg.hks sard nismo etc

Thats a very good marketing tool, call everyone elses product shit and then claim 1cc difference between the products you butcher/highflow

someday people will realize that this industry is full of fallicies and old wives tales(read:bull5hit).Unless i see or prove something with my own eyes or have the info coming from a trusted and/or reliable source it cannot be trusted. There is nothing like the self satisfaction of proving results for yourself.

The company offering to do the work are a "Advanced Performance Centre" without mentioning names

They build plenty of fast cars to PROVE their work

9.97 GSR and

Australia fastest front wheel drive CRX

Just to name a few

So I can only assume they know what they are talking about.

The very same can be said about internet forums.....

    • To be determined, Luke, to be determined. 😁 Definitely the car
    • It might be worth having a good look at the chassis behind the bumper then; most people prefer the series 2 look so it might have been changed to cheaper parts as part of an earlier repair
    • The car itself a series 2. I was just curious about the headlights and just wanted to confirm that they were series 1. Good to know the rest of the front end is series 1. It’ll be easier for me to find parts on the aftermarket side of things lol
    • If you've wired up the coils & injectors properly, & have the neo CAS loom for the trigger, it should all work. The VCT works the same way so just different plugs between s1 & neo. Assuming DBW if no IAC. Don't bother with the stock boost solenoid with g4x.
    • THERE IS NO IAT SENSOR ON ANY SINGLE TURBO RB. And the one on an RB26 is not for "engine control" - it's really too big and too slow and is only used for over-temp alarming (as far as I can tell). Anyway, you don't have one. You want/need one for the Link, then you need to buy one, find a spot for it, and wire it in. You do know that the stock boost solenoid is not capable of "control", right? It is merely on or off, for the low boost (5 psi) and high boost (7psi), which the ECU enforces mostly based on gear. The stock solenoid is not for PWM control and is not plumbed up in a way to provide it. If you want to control boost properly, then you need a proper MAC valve. And yes, you can wire either of them direct to the ECU. Well, I assume you can - I don't know what the boost solenoid pins on the plug and play Link are capable of. They really should be as capable as any normal Link - but seeing as it is plg and play, it might be limited to stock functionality. Read the doco.   You really do just want to plug stuff together without understanding how it works, right? I can't help you there. I don't know the plug types or pinning on half the stuff you're asking about. If I had to do it I would sit down with the wiring diagrams, the car/looms and a multimeter and work out what is what.
