Velict
My clutch booster is squealing. I was going to replace it, but then dang ole' dang ole, i found a booster delete set up. How much heavier would a stock clutch, or dual carbon clutch be if this booster was removed? Honestly, would it be worth it? r32 gtr 1991 Edited August 18, 2015 by Velict Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/459092-to-delete-or-not-to-delete/ Share on other sites
GH05T
worth it? well its not going to be an upgrade.i assume a delete setup would simply be a bypass? could you not bypass it temporarily and see what the clutch feels like that way? KiwiRS4T
Put it this way - with a heavy duty clutch I looked into fitting a booster but was too much trouble and never got round to it. On the other hand if there was one already fitted I can't think of any reason to get rid of it. Duncan
I haven't tried back to back, but almost no cars use a clutch booster.....Nissan over engineered a lot with the GTR which is great, but I think in this case it wasn't necessary Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/459092-to-delete-or-not-to-delete/#findComment-7589987 Share on other sites

Hadouken
Oh snap! This would be interesting. What if you had a solid button clutch with 3700lb clamp..... Would that be heavy? Ben C34
Can't you just disconnect the vacuum to the booster and see how hard it is? Or push the clutch a few times with the engine off? Unless they are different bore master cylinders, that's how it will feel with no booster. 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/459092-to-delete-or-not-to-delete/#findComment-7590028 Share on other sites
jiffo
How easy is this ??? Like Ben said, drop the vacuum by depressing the clutch a few times and then see how you like the un-assisted pedal. Certainly not for me, I want all the assist available. Takes some load off the well known-weak-as-piss pedal, why would you go to the trouble of deleting it. Pay the bucks. A bit under $300 from Kudos gets you a new unit or around $100 will get the old one reconditioned. Velict
Drove around with the vacuum disconnected. It's not heavy, but after a while it just gets annoying. I have decided to just replace the booster. Also, the annoying squealing went away when I disconnected it lol. Proper troubleshooting without even trying.
